James Howe Colley, 77, of Paducah went peacefully to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family. Mr. Colley was a Retired store manager of Wetterau-SuperValu and later from Kroger. He was also of the Church of Christ faith and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 57 years, Phyllis Chandler Colley; beloved daughter, Philisha Colley Nobis of Paducah; and other extended family members including sister and brother-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitlow and Edna Taylor Colley; one brother; and one sister. Graveside services will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Wickliffe Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell D. Owens, 64, of Bardwell died at Baptist Health Paducah at 8:50 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2016. Arrangements were incomplete at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
Joe Elbert Hargrove, 88, of Kevil died Friday, April 13, 2016, at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. Mr. Hargrove was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in La Center. He retired from USEC/Carbide as a maintenance worker. He was a member of the Antioch Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. He and his wife Wanda belonged to Whirl Ways Square Dancing Club for 27 years. He was a farmer. He is survived by one son, Mike Hargrove of Wickliffe; two brothers, Roy Lee Hargrove of Statesville, North Carolina, and Jerry Wayne Hargrove of Barlow; two sisters, Ruthie McCabe of Lone Oak and LaWanda Crews of Kevil; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; one son, Gary; one grandson; and four sisters. His parents were Elbert and Anna Madien Hargrove. Services were held Monday, May 16, 2016, at Morrow Funeral Chapel of La Center. The Rev. Jamie Lee officiated. Interment followed at Barlow Cemetery in Barlow. Leroy Branham, 71, of Kevil passed away at 3:46 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at Baptist Health Paducah. Leroy was born September 18, 1944, the youngest of three boys born to Sam and Ora Caudil Branham. Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Helen Markus Branham; daughter, Amanda Branham and husband, Shane Pace of Kevil; three grandchildren, Henry Pace, Alex Pace and Walter Pace; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Tamara Leigh Branham. Funeral services for Leroy will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Newton Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Marty Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Newton Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Leonard Russell, 84, of La Center died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Lourdes hospital. Mr. Russell was a member of First Baptist Church of La Center. He farmed all of his life. He had been president of the board of La Center Rural Fire Department since 1965. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Earlene Russell; one son, David L. Russell of La Center; one daughter, Debbie Dyson of La Center; two brothers, Herman Russell of La Center and Charlie Ozment of Michigan; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Thomas Franklin and Catherine Shemwell Russell. Services were held Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center.
