Ken Rudy Doke, 78, of Paducah, formerly of Ballard County, died Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center after a long and courageous fight with cancer. Ken was born in Blandville, KY on October 28, 1937 to the late Dueward and Blonda Arrington Doke. For 38 years, he was the owner/operator of Doke 66 Service Station in Wickliffe. His cattle farm was known as Doke Polled Herefords. After Ken and Carolyn moved to Paducah, he worked at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in the maintenance and activity departments. He also was well-known as a crossing guard for Paducah Middle School. Ken was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Carolyn Lamkin Doke; daughter, Jackie Doke Wilson of Paducah; sister, Toni Jo Gibson of Paducah; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Doke Moore; son, Kerry Duane Doke; grandson, Blake Burnley; brother, Rayford Doke; and his parents. Funeral services were held Monday evening at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jamie Broome officiating. Graveside services were held on Tuesday at Wickliffe City Cemetery.

WICKLIFFE -- Fred Case, 95, of Wickliffe died at 5:50 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016, at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Paducah. Arrangements were incomplete at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe. CLINTON -- Douglas Lang Swindler, 67, of Clinton, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at his residence. He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church and was a retired principal of Hickman County High School. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Chambers Swindler of Clinton; two sons, Clay Swindler of South Fulton, Tennessee, and Vic (Jennifer) Swindler of Mayfield; one sister, Diane (Jim) Hayden of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Justin Swindler and Tyler Storey, both of Bardwell and Corryn Swindler and Reed Swindler, both of Mayfield. His parents were Harold Tremble and Jane Brisban Chandler Swindler. Funeral services were held Monday, August 22, 2016, at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton. The Revs. Rocky James and David Gossum officiated. Burial followed in Pleasant View Memorial Gardens. LA CENTER -- Kenneth Jerome Bracken, 56, of La Center died Monday, August 15, 2016, at Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was baptized at Greater Love Baptist Church in Paducah. He is survived by his father, James Allen Bracken of Ben Harbor, Michigan; one son, Christopher Thomas Bracken; two daughters, Nicole McCauley of Omaha, Nebraska, and Camarisk Williams of Atlanta; and two brothers, James W. Bracken and Martin Bracken, both of La Center. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Inell Bracken. Visitation was held Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center.

David Blackwell, 48, of Paducah, died peacefully Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at his home surrounded by his wife, two sons, and aunt. Mr. Blackwell was a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a compliance officer for Personal Finance Company and a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He served in the United States Navy for seven years. During his time in the Navy, he traveled the world including a tour in Desert Storm. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lawra Ouellette Blackwell; two sons, Alex Blackwell and Zack Blackwell, both of Paducah; two brothers, Stevie Blackwell with wife, Lori of Texas and Charley Tinsley with wife, Cindy of Missouri; one grandmother, Dorothy Blackwell of Gilbertsville; his father-in-law Clete Ouellette and mother-in-law, Nonie of Paducah; one brother Michael Bobo and sister in-law, Niki of Kevil; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Jean Blackwell; and his grandfather, Willie D. Blackwell Sr. Funeral Mass was held Saturday, August 20, 2016, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Rev. Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

ARLINGTON -- Russell 'Rusty' Pickard, 67, of Arlington died at 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his home. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Clinton and worked as an inspector for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He is survived by his wife, Bettye Crider Pickard; one son, Eric Pickard of South Fulton, Tennessee; one brother, George Pickard of Clinton; two daughters-in-law, Sheree Anderson of Paducah and Brandy Pickard of Murray; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Adam Pickard; and one brother. His parents were Edward and Dorothy Kelly Pickard. Services were held Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington. The Rev. Robert Drury will officiate. Burial followed at Milburn Cemetery.
