Brandon Burnett, age 27, died at his home Wednesday Evening at 8:54 p.m. He graduated from Ballard Memorial High School in 2002.  He was presently working for Buchanan Farms.  In the past he had worked for MeeksElectric and Jays Electric.  Brandon was an avid hunter. He is survived by his Mother Monica Burnett of Barlow, Ky; one sister Haleigh Hayden of Boaz, Kentucky; and his fiance, Michelle Bourland. Brandon was preceded in death by his father Glenn Burnett. Graveside Services were held Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m.at Barlow Cemetery with Cindy Engelhardt officiating.  Interment followed at Barlow Cemetery. Morrow Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements

Billy L. Pippin, age 80, of Kevil  died at 8:30 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he played piano for fifty + years.  He was a self-employed farmer. He served in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty Pippin; one son, Richard Pippin of Kevil; two daughters, Debbie Franks of Paducah, and Gayle Owsley of Kevil; one brother, Don Pippin of Kevil; one sister, Suzann Lovelace of Paducah; five grandchildren, Jennifer Berry of Paducah, Nathan Owsley (Jessica) of Kevil, Will Owsley of Kevil, Jeff Franks (Crystal) of Kevil, LeAnn Slayden (Derrick) of Kevil; and eight great-grandchildren; Blake Sullivan, Tyler Berry, Carrington Carter, Carter Franks, Tyler and Tanner Shepherd, Brady and Ellie Jo Slayden. Billy was preceeded in death by his parents, Lewis and Annie Griffin Pippin and one brother, David Griffin. Funeral service for Billy Pippin were held Monday, July 22, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at Morrow Funeral Chapel of La Center with the Rev. Neil Eidson and Rev. Don Pippin officiating. Interment followed the service at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Needmore, KY. Morrow Funeral Chapel of La Center handled the arrangements.

Jack Burke Pate, age 71, of Santa Clara, CA passed away on July 13, 2013. Born and raised in Barlow, Kentucky, Jack resided in California for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents James Thomas and Sarah Ann Freeman Pate. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Susannah Price, three sons, Keith and Kory Pate, Jason Price, daughter LaTricia Hillman and five grandchildren, Dylan, Ava, Ryan, Scarlett and Phoenix. Jack was a Navy veteran and the proud owner of J-Par Plumbing for over 30 years. He was very proud that his plumbing skills helped in the development of Silicon Valley, and those who had the pleasure of working with him will value his expertise for years to come. We loved him very much, enjoyed his lifetime stories and tremendous sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life was held on July 21 in California, with good food, friends, laughter and a few tears, in honor of how Jack lived his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made “In Memory of Jack Pate” to Hospice of the Valley, 4850 Union Ave., San Jose, Ca. 95124.

Debra Leann Rosenthal-Tyree, 51, of Oscar died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah. She was a homemaker and of the Christian faith. She is survived by her children, Jason Weldon of Columbus, Miss., Christina Breazeale of Murphy, N.C., and Brian Lum and Jessica Hines, both of Metropolis, Ill.; seven grandsons; two sisters, Norma Belin of El Dorado, Ark., and Sandra Pack of Hamburg, Ark., and two brothers, Jesse Tucker of Florida and Leslie Tucker of Montrose, Ark. Her parents were Leslie Tucker and Jessie Mae (Richey) Tucker. Memorial services will be held later. For those wishing to attend, contact the family for specific arrangements. Memorials may be made to any charity that would benefit children or animals. Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.

Brent D. Moore (Poodle), died at his home in Barlow at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013. He was a lifelong resident of Ballard County. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of Local # 782 Iron Workers Union and he belonged to a Masonic lodge. Brent is survived by one sister, Charlotte Oliver and her husband Eddie of La Center; two nieces, Anita Beasley and her husband Jerry of LaCenter and Alisa Bartholomew and her husband Joe of Lansing, Michigan; three great-nephews, Derek Turner of Oscar, Jason Beasley of La Center, and Isiah Bartholomew of Lansing, Michigan; two great-nieces, Shanda Malone of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sara Viniard of Wickliffe. Brent was preceded in death by two brothers, Bart Moore and Bradley Scott Moore; and his parents, Clarence and Elizabeth Anderson Moore. Memorial services were held Friday evening at 7 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with the Rev. Glen Crowe officiating. Interment followed on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Barlow Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to: Grace Valley Baptist Church, 403 Kentucky Ave., Kevil, Kentucky 42053.

Donnie Jewell Timmons, 64, of Lovelaceville died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2013, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. He attended Lovelaceville United Methodist Church and was a retired chief engineer from Southern Towing Company. He is survived by one son, Tyler Timmons of Mayfield; his stepfather and mother, Charles and Virgilene Stokes Stone of Kevil, and one grandson, Zack Timmons of Paducah. He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Timmons; one son, Jason Timmons, and two daughters, Carey Lynn Timmons and Rebecca Timmons. Graveside services were held Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Mount Kenton Cemetery in Lone Oak with the Rev. David Fullen officiating.  Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield was in charge of arrangements.
