Phyllis Miller Neal, 96 of Carmel, Ind., formerly of Metropolis, Ill., died September 19, 2013, at Manor Care at Summer Trace in Carmel, Ind. Phyllis is survived by her son, Patrick (Linda) Neal; one niece; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; and 12 great-great-nieces and nephews. Phyllis touched the lives of many with her spirit and enthusiasm for life. She always felt that friends and family were her life’s joy. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 605 Metropolis Street, Metropolis, IL. Rev. Mr. Joseph Michael Rushing, age 51, of Tabernacle Township, N.J., formerly of Metropolis, Ill., passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013, at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Forthman will officiate. Mike served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant for 10 years. Mike is survived by his wife, Monica (Coomer) Rushing; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Kromer and husband Daniel of Clarksville, Tenn.; one sister, Jacquline Sue Barham and husband Chuck of Moline, Ill.; one brother, James P. Rushing and his wife Leslie of Princeton, Ky.; mother, Lois Lee Rushing of Metropolis; two grandsons, Ethan Michael Kromer and Bradley Scott Kromer; three nieces, Katie Sue Barham, Ashley Elizabeth Rushing and Jennifer Stallins; one nephew, Eric Poe; one aunt, Geraldine Wroughton; and several cousins. Larry Dant Hill, 31, of Kevil died at 3:09 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Missionary Church and employed with Eagle Masonry. He is survived by his wife, Cocoa Prather Hill; two sons, Dantevious Hill of Paducah and Larry Dant Hill Jr. of Kevil; two daughters, Dantejah Hill of Atlanta, and Shyai George of Paducah; his parents, Jocelyn Hill Byas and stepfather Warren Byas of West Paducah, and Larry Young of Paducah; his grandfather, James Hill of Paducah; one stepbrother, Carrington Byas of West Paducah; and two stepsisters, LaToya Byas of Nashville, Tenn., and Brittany Byas of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Jacqueline Hill; and paternal grandparents, Marjorie Young and Pete Young. Services were held Saturday, November 9, 2013, at Greater Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah. The Revs. Dorothy Byas and Alfred Anderson officiated with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joe Maurice Miller, 96, of Kevil, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Lourdes hospital. Mr. Miller was a farmer, a US Army World War II veteran, and a member of the F & AM Lodge 707. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his daughter, Linda (Carl) Hannon of Kevil; one granddaughter, Shara (Chris) Romaine of Wickliffe; one grandson, Shane (Jackie) Hannon of Paducah; a special niece, Robin (Mark) Simpkins of Kevil; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-niece. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Miller. His parents were Joe and Daisy Miller. Graveside services were held Thursday, November 7 at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with Bro. Mary Ann Terrell, 71, died at her home in Barlow at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday afternoon surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was a member of Barlow Baptist Church. She was a very active member of her church where she was Financial Secretary for several years, past Director of WMU, and she taught Sunday School and GA’s for several years. Mary Ann was employed for several years at Martin Marietta and later retired from Kevil Bank. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jackie Lee Terrell of Barlow; two sons, Jackie Lee Terrell Jr. and his wife Kim of LaCenter and Bobby Joe Terrell and his wife Cathy of Barlow; one brother, William Cooper of Kevil; two sisters-in-law, Mattie Terrell of LaCenter and Patsy Terrell of Hutchinson, Kansas; three grandchildren, Nicolette Barton, Dylan Nichols and his wife Whitney and Bobby Clark Terrell; and one great-granddaughter, Mia Barton. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Cooper; and her parents, Elbert and Marguerite Cooper. Funeral services were held November 8, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter with the Rev. Scott Fickes officiating. Interment followed at Barlow Cemetery. Frances Adeline Northington, 89, of Princeton died at 2:27 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2013, at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton. She was a member of Ogden Memorial United Methodist Church in Princeton and a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in La Center. She is survived by two daughters, Suzanne McMullin and Dixie Broadfoot, both of Princeton; and two grandsons, Kyle Broadfoot of Nashville, Tenn., and Blake Broadfoot of Arlington, Va. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Northington Jr., and two brothers. Her parents were Harry and Adeline Rudy. Services were held November 9, 2013, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with the Rev. Gary Graves officiating. Burial followed at La Center Cemetery.
