Donald Edwin Staggs, 69, of Pulaski died at 10:38 p.m. Sunday, January 19, 2014, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home in Marion. Arrangements were incomplete at Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge.
Elnita Crice Parsons, 72, of Paducah, formerly of Bandana, died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Parkview Nursing Home in Paducah. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband, Carl Thomas Parsons of Kevil; two sons, Robert Thomas Parsons of Franklin, Tenn., and Michael Edward Parsons of Kevil; one daughter, Pamela Jaye Briggs of Grand Prairie, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her parents were Robert Elwood and Juqnita Brockman Crice. Graveside services were held Monday, January 20, 2014, at Barlow Cemetery in Barlow with the Rev. Doug Hughes officiating. Gwenda D. Morris, 66, of Lovelaceville died at 7:33 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Morris attended Lovelaceville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Larry W. Morris; two sons, Dewayne Morris and Ralph Aydelott, both of Lovelaceville; one brother, Bernie DeRousse of Bardwell; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Her parents were Bernie and Martha Lou Fiscus DeRousse. Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Lovelaceville Cemetery with the Rev. Aaron Barnett officiating. There was no visitation. Morrow Funeral Chapel of La Center is in charge of arrangements.
Louise Wild Billingsley, 92, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Sun City West, Ariz. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Richardson of Cairo; three sons, Charles Wild of Scott City, Mo., Theodore Wild of Gainesville, Fla., and John Wild of Surprise, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Services were held Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Chris Mujule officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
William "Bill" Mur Myers, 95, formerly of Brazil, Ind., passed away January 15, 2014. He was born October 23, 1918, in Clinton, Indiana, to Mur and Pauline Myers. Bill graduated from Brazil High School before serving his country in the United States Army during World War II, and going on to work at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis. He was formerly a member in West Bridge Church of Danville, Indiana, and was an avid car collector. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Myers; brother, Thomas Myers; and sisters, Eileen Hunt, Peg Killion, and Betty Ann Mogan. Survivors include his son, Thomas Myers, Bloomington, Indiana; daughters, Catherine (Dr. Marvin) Powers, Paducah, Kentucky, and Ellen Myers, Clayton, Indiana; his sister, Ruth Cagle, Terre Haute, Indiana; his grandchildren, Matthew (Stacey) McPeek, Ryan (Casey) Blinn, Brandon Blinn, William Blinn, Austin Blinn, Evan Blinn, Peyton Blinn, Wyatt Blinn; great-grandchildren, Quinten McPeek, Clayton McPeek, Ellie McPeek, Rylie Blinn. Funeral services were held Monday, January 20, 2014, at the Moore Funeral Home in Brazil with pastor Ron McDugle officiating and burial followed at Indian Prairie Baptist Cemetery.
