Services for Tieasha Lakeshia Donlow, 22, of La Center were held Saturday, February 8, 2014, at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with the Rev. Franklin Stone and the Rev. Rodney Hill officiating. Burial will be in Henderson Cemetery. Miss Donlow died Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah. She had been employed by Damron LA Oasis in La Center for five years and attended Fairview Baptist Church. She is survived by her mother, Valerie Donlow, and stepfather, David Hollowell Sr. of La Center; her father, Michael Phelps of Martin, Tenn.; two brothers, Dequin Donlow of La Center and David Hollowell Jr. of Paducah; two sisters, Nicole Donlow of La Center and Nyshenia Hollowell of La Center; her grandparents, Ben and Mildred Donlow of Union City, Tenn., and Gusteva Donlow of Union City, Tenn. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Dorothy Virginia Forthman Brown, 69, of Brookport, Ill., passed away Friday, February 7, 2014, at Lourdes Hospital at 6:40 a.m. Dorothy was born February 5, 1945, in West Helena, Ark., to Fredrick and Bessie Forthman. She will be remembered as a loving mother who found great joy in spending time with all her family. She loved preparing meals for family gatherings, so her kitchen was a focal point of their home. Although she held several occupations during her life, her main work was that of a faithful and caring homemaker. She is survived by her husband of fifty one years, Henry Brown of Brookport, Ill.; her daughter, Rita McIntosh and husband Jeff of Benton; her sons, William (Bill) Brown and wife Lorie of Brookport, Ill. and Jerry Brown and wife Leslie of Brookport, Ill.; her sisters, Ann Kennedy of Metropolis, Ill., Betty Bonner, of Paducah and Pearl O'Brien, of Brookport, Ill.; her brothers, William Forthman and wife Dean of Brookport, Ill. and James Forthman and wife Sandra of Brookport, Ill.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick Theodore Forthman and Bessie Mae Pickett Forthman; her son, Bobby Lee Brown; and her brothers, Theodore, Murphy, Frank and Roger Forthman. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Pell Cemetery in Brookport, Ill. with the Revs. Trad York and Frank Forthman Jr. officiating. Durwood D. Eleam, 74, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2014, at his residence. Memorial services were held Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Private family burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Pope County, Ill. Durwood retired from Electric Energy Incorporated as a shift supervisor, was a member of Metropolis First Baptist Church, a 50 year member of Masonic Lodge #91, a member of Four Rivers Jayco Camping Club, and a veteran of the United States Navy, having obtained the rank of BT3. Durwood is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rheitta (McNichols) Eleam of Metropolis, Ill.; two daughters, Martha Boland and husband Allen of Brentwood, Tenn., and Susan Thompson and fiancÃ© Billy Shinn of Metropolis, Ill.; three granddaughters, Audrey and Katie Thompson both of Metropolis, Ill., and Elizabeth Boland of Brentwood, Tenn.; brother, Gerald L. Brenda Garduno, 59, of Metropolis passed away at 12:50 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at Metropolis Nursing and Health Care Center in Metropolis.
