Linda K. Oglesbee, 66, of Metropolis passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at her residence. She is survived by her husband of over 25 years, Patrick Oglesbee; son, Sean, and wife, Daisy Sjurset; son, Mike, and wife, Amy Mcdonald; daughter, Meghan Ventura, and husband, Dave; son, Brian Oglesbee; sister, Bev Aregger; brother, Larry, and wife, Linda Sjurset; brother, Dale Sjurset; sister, Dianne McMullen; sister, Susan Hines; sister, Sharen Evans, and husband, Norman; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ione (Angelly) Sjurset; and four brothers, Bill, Dave, Scott and Jr. Sjurset. There will be a private family service at a later date. Nicholas Adam Grubb, age 34, of Brookport, Ill., passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Schriefer officiating. Nicholas is survived by his mother, Denise Rupp and companion Jerry Jacobs; father, Michael Grubb; two sisters, Amanda Bollinger and husband Jason, and Stephanie Rupp and companion Paul Robertson; one brother, William Rupp; maternal grandparents, Paul and Catherine Graham; four nieces, Zalie Bollinger, Layla Robertson, Caroline Robertson and Amelia Robertson; nephew, Zane Bollinger; one uncle, Michael Graham; two aunts, Nicole Crawford and Christine Priebe. William Matthew LaGore, 23, of Metropolis, Ill., died at 9:12 a.m. Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at his residence. Mr. LaGore was a manager at Yesterdays BBQ Restaurant of Metropolis and was of the Christian faith. He is survived by his mother, Becky (LaGore) Whitley and his stepfather, Daniel Whitley of Metropolis; sister, Sierra LaGore of Metropolis; grandparents, Dan and LulaBelle Kickasola of Brookport; aunts and uncles, Jesse Kickasola, Sam Kickasola, Melissa Kickasola of Brookport and Melinda Myers of Metropolis; and cousins, Cassie, Zack, Josh, Jordan, Luke, Dustin and Jessica. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert LaGore; and his grandparents, Willie and Jackie LaGore. Funeral services were held Monday, February 17, 2014, at Hughes Funeral Home with the Rev. Mickey Brown officiating. Burial followed at Kickasola Family Cemetery of Brookport, Ill. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to: City National Bank - Benefit for William Matthew LaGore. Ms. Beverly Joyce Baird, 80, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away Thursday, February 13, 2014, at her residence with her family by her side. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis. Burial followed in Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Ms. Baird was an employee at Good Luck Glove Factory for over 20 years. Beverly is survived by her daughter, Virginia Phillips and husband Marlon of Fillmore, Ill.; one son, Jerry Wayne Baird and wife Teresa of Unionville, Ill.; 11 grandchildren, Delaine Douglas, Buffy Lee, Courtney Wiley, Marlon Phillips, Beverly Slightom, Eddie Baird, Sean Whitnel, Elizabeth Jones, Caleb Baird, Robin Hunt and Kelly Bailey; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Earl Warner Wiggins of Irving, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Lillie and Audrey (McDaniel) Wiggins; her husband of 58 years, Jerry Baird; one son, Lawrence Baird; two sisters, Virginia Lucille Hollabaugh and Mary Louise Gray; one brother, James Kenneth Wiggins; and a great-grandson, Jordan Sullivan. Marjorie Eileen "Kitty" Hull, 82, of Kevil, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Lourdes hospital. She was born on May 24, 1931, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Fred C. and Loretta Young Thomas. Marjorie retired as head of maintenance and housekeeping from Ramada Inn in Mt. Vernon. She attended St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She is survived by two children, Martina Greenwell and husband Dwain of Paducah and Peter Pentasuglia and wife Teri of Gulfport, FL.; a brother, John D. Thomas and wife Donna of Springfield, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael C.
