Paul Jones, 84, of Metropolis died Monday, May 26, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah. Arrangements were incomplete at Lindsey Funeral Home.

Loudean Wells, 89, of Metropolis, Ill., died Friday, May 23, 2014, at her home. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Metropolis. She is survived by one son, Theo (Ted) Wells of Metropolis; one daughter, Suzanne (Susie) Wells of Cape Coral, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Carolee Gailey of Gainesville, Ga.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Her parents were Joel Elmer and Rebecca Futrell. No services are scheduled. Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.

James T. "Jim" Kerr, 62, of rural Vienna died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at his home. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service carrier. He was a member of Vienna First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Laws) Kerr; three children, Melanie Jones of Tunnel Hill, and Angela Jones and Derek Kerr, both of Buncombe; one stepdaughter, Shayne Bundren of Vienna; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathryn Kerr of Bloomington and Marie Kerr Emery of Gainesville, Ga. His parents were Harry Milton Kerr and Joan (Crawford) Kerr. Services were held Monday, May 26, 2014, at Vienna First Baptist Church. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery east of Buncombe. Memorials may be made to the Vienna First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 727, Vienna, IL 62995; the Heather Harper Treat Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 98, Vienna, IL 62995; the Mt. Zion Cemetery, c/o Owen Lee Webb, 2190 Mt. Zion Road, Vienna, IL 62995; or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Shirley Martin Word Spears ( also known as "Sissy and Gran Gran" died on Tuesday , May 27, 2014 at Baptist Health in Paducah. Shirley is Survived by her son and daughter in law; Martin and Jane Flournoy of Kevil, (Gage Community). Her grandson, Phillip Flourney of Kevil and two Grandaughters Lacey Flournoy and Katey Flournoy of Atlanta, Georgia. One sister and her husband; Alice Earle and Joe King of Kevil. Nephew Blake King ,neices Kim Stokes and Delinda (Ed) McDermott. Also main caregiver Christina Newton. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Spears and her parents Vivetta And D.Y Word. Shirley was a member of Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gage where she taught Sunday School for several years. She graduated from Ballard Memorial High School in 1953 . She retired from Sears in Paducah after 25 years of service. She also had been employed at Snowers in Cairo for several years. Shirley worked at Gage Grill and Grocery as lunch time cashier until her illness in January of 2013. Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Gage. Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Bethel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund 12304 Wickliffe Road Kevil, Kentucky 42053. Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter is handling the arrangements.
