Robert Terry Lee, age 61, of Kevil died at his home, Monday morning at 9:22 a.m. Terry drove a truck for many years and also had been an instructor for Franklin Truck Driving School. He farmed in most recent years. He is survived by his wife, Cathy Lee of Kevil, Ky.; his father, Robert Howard Lee of Kevil; two sons, Robert Lee and his wife Annalisa of Kevil, Jason Lee and his wife Julie of Kevil; one stepson, Ricky Sherron of Chicago, Ill.; one daughter, Ashley Bodell and her husband Cody of Kevil; one stepdaughter, Mary Sherron of Paducah; eight grandchildren, Drake Lee, Reed Lee, Bailey Lee, Andee Bodell, Rilee Bodell, Kayla Sherron, Victoria Sherron, and Myiah Sherron. Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Grief Lee; and one brother, Howard Dorsey Lee. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with the Rev. Don Wann officiating. Interment will follow at New Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be sent to Lourdes Hospice Foundation Fund, P.O. Box 7100, Paducah, KY 42002-9961.

Carolyn Joyce Shelton, of La Center died Friday at 11 a.m. at her home in La Center. Carolyn was a member of Concord Church of Christ. She also had been employed by Ballard Board of Education as a substitute teacher. She is survived by her husband, Larry Shelton of La Center; one son, Chad Shelton of La Center; two nieces, Crystal Thompson of Erlanger, Ky., and Misty Grow of Mitchell, Indiana; and one nephew, Joshua Shelton of Mitchell, Indiana. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Clellan and Almedia Parker. Memorial Services for Carolyn were held Monday, August 12, 2014 at Morrow Funeral Chapel. Steve Miller will be officiating. Mr. Corwin "Corky" Dewan King, age 71, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah, KY. Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Coram officiating. Burial followed in Metropolis Memorial Gardens with military rites. Mr. King was an Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. After returning from the war, Corwin worked until retirement at Honeywell, then continued working at Mike Smith Toyota in Paducah. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge Post 91. Corwin is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bonnie; 3 children, Lisa Davis, Kelly King, and Greg Esslinger; 6 grandchildren, Lyndsi Markus, Wendy Foster, Austin Abner, Cody Davis, Greg Esslinger Jr., and Dusty Davis; and 2 great-grandchildren, Olive and Hattie Markus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Evelyn (Irby) King; and his brother, Deon King. Graveside services for Wesley Robert Thoms, 84, of Metropolis will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014, at Liberty Ridge Cemetery with William Schierbaum officiating. Mr. Thoms died Friday, August, 8, 2014, at his home. Mr. Thoms was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a businessman and owned and operated the East End Tavern in Metropolis. Surviving are his wife, Margie Thoms; one son, Wesley Thoms; one granddaughter; two sisters, Lucille Myers and Beverly Feighner; and three brothers, Henry Tiegland, Leonard Tiegland and George Tiegland. Mr. Thoms was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. His parents were William and Minnie Johnson Thoms. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
