Kathleen Ford, age 79, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at her home in Barlow. She was a member of Barlow United Methodist Church. Kathleen was a loving wife, Mother, and Grandmother. Kathleen is survived by her husband Robert Allen Ford for more than 50 years, of Barlow, two sons Keith Ford and his wife Susie of Iowa, and Kevin Ford of Barlow, Ky. One daughter Mary K. Kennedy of Kevil and her husband Ben. Three Grandchildren Allanay, Makayla, and Caroline. Services will be held at a later date. Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center is handling arrangements.
Shirley Ann Harris Hack, age 78, of Kevil, died at 8:26 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Life Care Center in La Center, Ky. Shirley was a life long member of Newton Creek Baptist Church where she taught Pre-School Sunday School Class for several years. She was also a member of the church choir. She is survived by one son Bobie Hack Jr. of Paducah, Ky., two daughters Bonnie Viniard and her husband Russell of Kevil, and Carol Baugh and her husband Andrew of Madison, Alabama. Two sisters Jean Shelby of Kevil and June Massa of Paducah. Four Grandchildren, one Great Grandchild, two step-grandchildren, and four step Great Grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Dan Hack, one sister Patsy Chumbler and her parents Stanley and Lora Harris. Funeral Services were held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 20th at Newton Creek Baptist with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Interment followed at Newton Creek Baptist Church. Robert L. Gibson, age 86, died at his home Monday, December 15, at 10:39 A.M. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Robert loved to play guitar and sing Gospel music. He loved to deer hunt and fish. Robert was a World War II Merchant Marine Veteran. Robert is survived by one daughter Rita Elaine Gibson Minguss of LaCenter, Ky. A long time friend Louise Pool of Kevil, Ky. One brother Henry Gibson of Wickliffe, Ky. One Grandaughter Tami Eldred of Marion, Texas, three Great Grandchildren Cody Morris, Jacob Morris and Bailey Eldred of Marion, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Helen Gibson, three brothers and three sisters and his parents Charles and Oseola Gibson. Memorial Services were held Friday, December 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center, Ky. with the Rev. Richard Hicks officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Kimberly Lee Brown, 48, of Metropolis died at 11:58 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Metropolis First Baptist Church with the Rev. Shane Baker officiating. Burial will follow at IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis and from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
The Rev. Charles Franklin Wideman, age 81, of Kevil, formerly of Carterville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah. He was born May 22, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Katheryn B. (Moore) and E.V. Wideman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne (LeFlore) Wideman; two daughters, Diana (Bryan) Clayton, Kevil, and Melody (Charles Ray) Nance, Gorham, Illinois; five grandchildren, Jessica (Daniel) Thomas, Springfield, Tennessee, Caleb Clayton, Micah Clayton and Breanna Clayton, all of Kevil, and Carson Nance, Gorham, Illinos; a foster grandson, Elijah, Springfield, Tennessee; three brothers and one sister. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen; a brother and a sister. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and member of First Baptist Church of Carterville, Illinois. He was a Baptist minister for 41 years serving at five churches throughout Missouri and Illinois. A celebration of his life with family and friends was held on Saturday, December 6, 2014, in Festus, Missouri, with interment at Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery, Hillsboro, Missouri.
