Mr. Ernest Hugh Dunn, age 83, of Metropolis, IL, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis with Pastor Shawn Vandergriff officiating. Burial will follow in the Metropolis Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dunn worked for Bullock Garage Builders for 25+ years, was a member of the Coon Club, and an Army Veteran serving in the Korean War. Ernest was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and attended Weaver Creek Baptist Church. Ernest is survived by four children, Barbara Barnett and husband Philip of Karnak, IL, Steve Dunn and wife Melinda of Paducah, KY, John Dunn and wife Sue of Paducah, KY, and Brenda Copley and husband Tom of Metropolis; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Barnett and wife Kristy of Metropolis, Jeremy Barnett and wife Tori of Metropolis, Sam Dunn and wife Jessica of Elizabethtown, KY, Joe Dunn and wife Emily of Dresden, TN, Kimberly Dunn and fiancÃ© Dennis Duckett of Calvert City, KY, Wesley Dunn of Paducah, KY, Trey Copley of Metropolis, and Ty Copley of Metropolis; eight great-grandchildren; 3 stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Jones of Metropolis, Matthew Freeman of Paducah, KY, and Wayne Roberts and wife Amber of Lexington, KY; 4 stepgreat-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Glenda Stucker of Jerseyville, IL, Gladys Linefelser of Jerseyville, IL, and Mavis Ford of Elkhart, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Arthur and Roxie (Taylor) Dunn; wife of 56 years, Helen (Johnson) Dunn; sister, Avis Bullock; brother, Hiram Dunn. Jacqueline D. Baitinger, 90, of Metropolis, died at 10:15 a.m. Monday, March 16, 2015, at Massac Memorial Hospital. She is survived by cousins Ora Gress, of Effingham, and Bobby Johnson, of Metropolis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Baitinger. Her parents were Fred Glass and Una Mae Johnson Costrino. Her stepfather was Joseph Costrino. There will be no services. Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
Harold Keith Caylor, age 67, of Kevil, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 4:33 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah. Mr. Caylor was a native of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and was a member of the Twelve Oaks Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was an analyst for TVA. Surviving is his wife, Leda Houston Caylor; one daughter, Gail Caylor of New Mexico; one son, Michael Caylor of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Thomas Melvin Caylor of Kevil, Kentucky, and Donald Gordon Caylor of Tucson, Arizona; and one grandson, William Stockoff of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Clyde Caylor and Barbara Blount McClurg Caylor. A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Russell G. Benson, 65, of Wickliffe died at 11:43 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah. He was a member of Little Vine Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri, and attended Bethlehem Baptist Church of Wickliffe. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era and worked in agriculture related jobs. He is survived by his mother, Everstine Scheland Benson Lackey of Sikeston; three sons, Russell G. Benson Jr and Jamie Benson, both of Wickliffe, and Eric Benson of Lovelaceville; one sister, Melvana Sexton of Sikeston; one brother, James Benson of Texas; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Benson; his stepfather, Melvin P. Lackey; and one sister. Services were held Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Suiter and Larry Fraser officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
