Reverend Eugene Stanley "Stan" Gerard, age 82, of Metropolis, IL, formerly of Paducah, KY, died at 6 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services for Reverend Eugene Stanley "Stan" Gerard will be held Wednesday, April 29th, at 10 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis with burial to follow at Campground Church Cemetery. Reverend Dwight Kaylor will officiate. The family appreciates shared memories and loving fellowship. However in lieu of flowers please consider a donation of time or money to Dementia research or causes that help children or the elderly. Stan was born August 18th, 1932, in Detroit, Michigan, to Eugene B and Viola Gerard. During the time of the Korean War he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving in the Pacific as a control tower operator on Guam and Johnston Island. After his discharge he attended Murray State University on the G.I. bill. It was there that he met and married Vanda Oliver in 1957. After graduation he taught sciences at Joppa High School for 10 years before being hired at Shawnee Community College. He taught biology at SCC for 20 years. In 1980 he was ordained a minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. During his time as a pastor "Brother Stan" ministered at Campground C.P. Church in Union County, Mt Sterling C.P. Church in Massac County, Sugar Grove C.P. Church in Crittenden County, KY, and Trinity Presbyterian Church in Metropolis. Stan is survived by his wife, Vanda Oliver Gerard; two sons, Anthony S. of Vienna, IL, and Darren V. of Tempe, AZ; his sister, Barbara Gerard Brierly of Bloomfiled Hills, MI; four grandchildren, Amber, Philippe, Aldi and Vodra; and thousands of former students.

Scotty Ray Rice, age 28, of Kevil, KY, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY. Scotty was born July 19, 1986, in Corydon, Indiana. He was a 2004 graduate of Heath High School in West Paducah, KY, and was an avid UK Basketball fan. Scotty is survived by his parents, Sherry Stivers of Kevil, KY, and Dale Rice of Irvington, KY; one sister, Trina Dowell of Kevil, KY; 2 nieces, Jennifer Cashman of Barlow, KY, and Seiara Dowell of Kevil, KY; one nephew, Brandon Dowell of Louisville, KY; one great-niece Brooklynne Cashman of Barlow, KY; and an aunt and uncle, Janie & Ronnie Stivers of Paducah, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William & Thelma Stivers and Ray & Sue Rice; several aunts and uncles, and an uncle, Darrell Rice. Funeral services will b held Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Rodney Hill officiating. Burial will followed services at Brooks Memorial Park.

Bobby Glenn McCord, 80, of Vienna, formerly of South Fulton, Tennessee, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at the University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. McCord was a member of First Baptist Church. He was a retired principal for the former Cayce Elementary School in Fulton County, Kentucky, and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served for 13 years. He is survived by his wife, Elma (Martin) McCord; three sons, Kent McCord and Joe Glenn McCord, both of Water Valley, Kentucky, and Robert McCord of Wingo, Kentucky; three stepsons, Robbie Lindhorst of Johnston City, Randy Lindhorst of Thomasville, and Ryan Lindhorst of Akin; one stepdaughter, Teresa Koenig of West Frankfort; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren, and one stepgreat-grandchild. Services were held Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, Kentucky. Burial followed in the Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Jan Hull, 65, of Metropolis died Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah. She was a retired communications supervisor for the Austin Police Department. She is survived by her parents, Doward and Pauline Stallins of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two sons, Jason Williams of Lexington, Kentucky, and Jeoff Williams of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Shannon Dian Williams of Vienna; three grandchildren; and one sister, Dian Stallins of Leander, Texas. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jaci Williams. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, at Blue Spring Church Cemetery in Caldwell County, Kentucky, with the Rev. Wayne Glass officiating. Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton, Kentucky, is in charge of arrangements.

Janetta Faye Meeks, 72, of Wellston, Oklahoma, died Friday, April 24, 2015, at the home of her son in Kevil, Kentucky. Before moving to Oklahoma, Janetta and her husband were residents of the Heath community. Janetta was a homemaker who enjoyed snow-birding in Arizona and traveling throughout the Southwest. She loved making jewelry and painting. She attended Pentecostal Holiness Church in McLoud, Oklahoma. Janetta is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Meeks and wife, Sherri, of Kevil, Kentucky; brother, Shelby Martin and wife, Katie of Oxford, Georgia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Kenneth Bruce Meeks; son, Gerald Meeks; and brother, Bobby Joe Martin. Her parents were Mack and Alta Martin. Memorial services were held Tuesday, April 28th, at 2 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Mr. Chuck Jordan officiating.. Burial will be at a later date at the Moore Cemetery in Moore, Oklahoma. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements. Charles Joe Henderson, 56, of Brookport died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at his home. He attended Mt. Sterling Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Millwrights Union Local 716 of St. Louis. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Donna Henderson; one daughter, Eve Kotter of Benton; one son, Barry Henderson of Brookport; his father, Orval Henderson of Grantsburg; two grandchildren; three brothers, Dan Henderson of Kuttawa, James Henderson of Belkap, and John Henderson of Grantsburg; two stepbrothers, Kenny Henderson and Mark Henderson, both of Elkhart, Indiana; and one stepsister, Dianne Henderson of Elkhart. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeraldine (Bell) Henderson. There will be no services.

Mary Frances Young Ashby, age, 81 died Wednesday Evening at 8:45 p.m. at Life Care Center in LaCenter. Mary is survived by one daughter Susie Ashby of Paducah, one brother Joe E. Young of LaCenter, and one sister Betty Griffin of Kevil. She was preceded in death by her husband James Richard Ashby, and her parents Arthur and Fammie May Young. She was a member of Bandana United Methodist Church. She was employed at Kevil Bank for several years. Mary was Director of His House in LaCenter for many years. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m.at Morrow Funeral Chapel in LaCenter with the Rev. Ken Locke officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be sent to His House Ministry P.O. Box 68 LaCenter, Ky. 42056. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon Sunday until funeral time at 2:00 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center. Messages for the family may be left at morrowfuneralchapel.com.
