N.L. Carpenter, age 90, died at Life Care Center in La Center, Ky. Sunday morning at 10:37 a.m. N.L. was a retired farmer. He farmed in Ballard County all of his life. He is survived by three sons Jackie Carpenter of Murray, Ky., Freddie Carpenter of Kevil, and Nick Carpenter of Kevil. One sister Nancy Dickerson of West Paducah, Ky. Three Grandchildren. N.L. was preceded in death by his wife Henreitta Carpenter, one son Gary Lynn Carpenter, one brother, six sisters and his parenbs Nick Lacey and Laura Carpenter. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with the Rev. Bill Ogden officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wickliffe. Visitation will be Wednesday morning after 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at 11:00 a.m. Morrow Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.

Robert "Bobby" Allan Goodman, Sr., 67, of Paducah, KY passed away at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital. He was a retired truck driver for Usher Transport. He was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, was Santa Clause for the Dream Factory for over 30 years and was a member of the D.E.S. He is survived by his sons, Billy Sullenger of La Center, KY and Raymond Anthony Goodman of Metropolis, IL; sister, Mary Katherine Koontz-Sanders of Paducah, KY; 4 grandchildren several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mayme Carroll Ringstaff Goodman; daughter, Mary Christina Goodman; son, Robert Allan Goodman, Jr. and two sisters. His parents were Raymond Earl Goodman and Mary Josephine Merryman Goodman. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church with Rev. Brian Roby officiating. Burial will follow in the Paradise Cemetery in Livingston County, KY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to, Lourdes Hospice, P.O. Sudie Kaye Colson Holdman, age 59, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was owner and operator of Back Woods BBQ in Paducah. Sudie was a part of the 1974 class of Ballard Memorial High School. Sudie was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Sudie is survived by her Mother Faye Colson of Barlow, Ky. Three sons Tristin Holdman and his wife Nikki of Barlow, Matthew Thomas Holdman of Paducah and Matthew Curtis of Paducah. One daughter Lisa Brown of West Paducah, Ky. Two brothers Mike Colson and his wife Vicki of Barlow and Terry Colson of Barlow. Two sisters Shirley Grief and her husband Randy of Orlando, Florida and Sheila Blankenship and her husband Don of Barlow. Two Grandaughters Illyssa Holdman and Haven Holdman of Barlow. Several Nieces and nephews. Sudie was preceded in death by her father William Thomas Colson. Funeral Services were held Friday, May 1st at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center with the Rev. Jared Hayes officiating.

Robert Dale Ray, age 73, died Tuesday afternoon, April 28, 2015 at Baptist Health in Paducah, Ky. Robert was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather. He was a member of Iron Local # 395 of Hammond, Indiana. Robert was a volunteer fireman for Barlow Fire Department for many years. He loved to fish, hunt and trap. Robert was also a Bee Keeper. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Nancy Roy of Barlow, Kentucky. One Son Mark Allen Roy of Duncanville, Texas, Two Daughters Christine Rene Boeringa and her husband Rich of Manhattan, Illinois, and Megan Elaine Mennenga and her husband Chadd of Pontiac, Illinois. Two brothers David Burnett of Barlow and Charles Burnett of Barlow, three sisters Rochelle Boyce of Big Sandy, Texas, Melody Kearney of Lufkin, Texas and Melinda Burnett of Florida. Five Grandchildren Jake Roy, Zachary Boeringa, Joshua Boeringa, Nolan Mennenga and Graham Mennenga. Several nieces and Robert was preceded in death by two brothers Mike Burnett and Glen Burnett, one sister Lynn Burnett and his parents Edgar and Joy Roy. Visitation was Thursday, April 29th at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center.

Glenda G. Thomas, age 54, of Metropolis, Illinois, passed away at 3:41 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Victory Full Gospel Church. Bro. Aaron Crainshaw, Bro. Penny Emery and Bro. Jack Rushing will officiate. Glenda was a member of Victory Full Gospel Church. Glenda is survived by her husband, Darrell Thomas; three sons, Michael Thomas and wife, Belinda, Bryan Thomas and Danny Thomas; 15 grandchildren; and mother, Mary Herron, all of Metropolis, Illinois; sister, Mary Elaine Thompson of Brookport, Illinois; brother, Earl Herron of Golconda, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. Glenda was preceded in death by her father, James Leroy Herron; and a nephew, Lukus Herron. Memorials may be made to: Victory Full Gospel Church, 2795 Old Marion Road, Metropolis, Illinois 62960.
