Paige Marie Lynell Hubbard, 13, of West Paducah, formerly of Calvert City, died Wednesday, August 5, 2015, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. Miss Hubbard was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Girl Scouts and the Calvert Chess Club. Surviving are her mother, Elizabeth Stevenson of West Paducah; her brother, William Lewis of West Paducah; her grandparents, Lisa and Jimmy Coss of Mount Juliet, Tennessee, Harry Frizzell of West Paducah, and Jody and Shellie Stevenson of Calvert City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Hubbard; and her grandmother, Jean Stevenson. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Calvert City. The Rev. Anthoni Ottagan will officiate. Burial will be in the Neal Family Cemetery in Benton. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
Mary Elizabeth Gay, age 86, of Wickliffe, Kentucky, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on August 7, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah. Mrs. Gay was a member of New Liberty General Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Thomas and husband, Chris of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christopher Blake Thomas and wife, Heather of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Jarrod Scott Thomas and wife, Brandy of Perryville, Missouri, Rebecca Susanne Thomas of Jackson, Missouri, Jennifer Harris of Murray, Kentucky, and Kimberly Gay of Murray, Kentucky; and nine great-grandchildren, Reed Mackenzie Thomas, Joshua Paul Thomas, Hannah Faith Thomas, Wyatt Christopher Thomas, all of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Nate Alan Thomas, Tylan Edward Thomas of Perryville, Missouri, Lance Riley Thomas, Lewis Jesse Thomas and Larissa Green, all of Jackson, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fisher Gay; two sons, Richard Lynn Gay and Arthur "Buddy" Gay; and her parents, Herman and Annie Ruth Williamson Bell. Funeral services for Mrs. Gay were held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Leon Bellamy officiating. Burial followed at New Liberty General Baptist Church Cemetery.
Forest Burns Henderson, age 92, died Friday morning, August 7, 2015, at 2:30 a.m. at Life Care Center in La Center. Forest was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army-Air Force veteran in the South Pacific. He farmed most of his life in Ballard County. Forest was a Ballard County Farm Bureau Board member for over 50 years. He is survived by one son, Terry Henderson of La Center; one daughter, Pam Hunt and her husband, Anthony of La Center, Kentucky; and two grandsons, Bradley Henderson of Lexington, Kentucky, and Ross Hunt of Nashville, Tennessee. Forest was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Jo Henderson; one granddaughter, Lindsey Henderson; and his parents, Forest and Mary Elizabeth Henderson. Graveside Services were held Sunday, August 9, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at La Center Cemetery with the Rev. Jamie Lee officiating. Interment followed at La Center Cemetery. Dorothy Spraggs, 88, formerly of Wickliffe, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015, at Boynton Beach Rehab Center in Boynton, Florida. Arrangements were incomplete at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe.
James Erasmus Vaughn, age 78, died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at Life Care Center in La Center. James was an Army Veteran, he had been employed at Modine, Victor Engineering, and retired from Lowes. He was an Elder Emeritus of La Center Christian Church. James is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sara Shelby Vaughn of Kevil; one son, James R. Vaughn; one daughter, Sally Vaughn; one sister, Ann Robertson and her husband Jere of Versailles, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Sue Vaughn of Grand Rapids, Michigan; several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one infant son, James E. Vaughn II; one brother, George Vaughn; and his parents Rev. E.R. and Emma Bell Vaughn. Graveside Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Woodville Cemetery with the Rev. Austin Scott officiating. Interment will follow services at Woodville Cemetery.
