Arlington City December Meeting held
ARLINGTON— The Arlington City Council Meeting was held on Monday Dec. 9.
Those attending were Mayor Bobby McGee, Clerk Ana Dixon, Commissioners Paul Gaddie, Hayli Burgess, and Jimmy Williams.
Mayor McGee called the meeting to order at 5pm.
A motion made and approved to accept last months minutes.
Dixon reported on the Treasure Report and it was approved.
During the Cemetery Report Gaddie stated everything is going good at the cemetery.
During the Commonwealth Gas report Williams stated that all the gas for the city has been bought and everything is going good.
Burgess stated that nothing is new for the sanitation report.
It was reported that the Arlington Fire Dept. responded to a grass fire in Berkley.
Park and City Activity Report: Burgess reported that the Christmas Parade had to be cancelled due to bad weather. She also stated that the annual Apple Festival is planned for September 13-2014.
New business included discussion of a generator the city will receive. A motion was made and carried to get a gas generator instead of a diesel that was first decided.
Also discussed was a bill the city received from the county for $2,900 for rock that was used to help prevent flooding in the west end of Arlington. No action was taken and it was tabled until next meeting.
