At lease two friends...by Dr. J.T. Parish

Pepper Rogers, former U.C.L.A. football coach, had a terrible season. He told his wife a man needs at least two friends. She bought him another dog. Everybody does need friends, but don’t go stockpiling Alpo. You can have human friends.

The Bible says to have friends we must show ourselves friendly. Don’t spend one minute worrying about not having friends. Simply start being a friend.

Life is like a boomerang. What we give out will come back. If we are negative, critical, faultfinding and unfriendly, we should not be surprised when others respond in kind.

If we are pleasant, helpful, and give out smiles and encouragement to others, others will do the same toward us.

I learned the secret long ago. When I think folks are not friendly to me, I go stand in front of a full length mirror so I can see the whole problem.

“Judge not, and you shall not be judged; condemn not and you shall not be condemned; forgive and you shall be forgiven. Give and it shall be given unto you.” (Luke 6: 37, 38a)
