Wickliffe - The recent opening of Daher-Transport Logistics International, Inc (Daher) located at the former AC Marine on US 60 in Kevil was discussed during the recent Fiscal Court meeting. “They [Daher] are working with the Environmental Protection Agency…everything has to be EPA regulated” Said Ballard County Judge Executive Vickie Viniard. Gary S. Vander Boegh, Chief Executive Officer of Commonwealth Environmental Services, LLC informed the magistrates the Kentucky Division of Water has jurisdiction. Boegh stated, “I do not want to see radioactive flagging from here down Humphries Creek all the way to the Ballard County Wildlife Preserve.”
After the Fiscal Court meeting, Terry Simmons, Chief Executive Officer of Ballard County Economic and Industrial Board was asked about the nuclear waste with which Daher was coming into contact. Simmons said that he does not want to speak for Daher and that this will be monitored by the Environmental Protection Agency. Simmons did state that this will be creating jobs for Ballard County.
Viniard said that she would like to invite Mark Lambert, Managing Partner of Daher to the September 2013 Ballard County Fiscal Court meeting to discuss Daher.
