Bardwell City Council Meeting held

BARDWELL - The monthly Bardwell City Meeting was held on Tuesday March 11, 2014.

Those attending were Mayor Philip King, Commissioners, Michael Hoskins, Kay Presson, Justin Shehorn, Visitors Attorney Jason Batts, Laney and Lilly Shehorn, Chris Wood with the Carlisle Co. Weekly, and Lilly Morefield with the Carlisle County News.

Mayor King called the meeting to order at 5PM and welcomed everyone for attending.

A motion made by Thomas to approve the February minutes was carried.

A motion made by Presson and 2nd by Thomas to approve the financial report was carried.

A motion by Hoskins and 2nd by Shehorn to approve the monthly bills was carried.

A motion was made by Hoskins with a 2nd by Presson to hold the 2nd reading of Ordinates for the State Highway Project no 92-2014, was carried.

After discussion to update the travel and meal expense in policy book a motion was made by Thomas and 2nd by Presson to change the policy to $8 for breakfast, $10 lunch and $12 dinner for employees who travel.

Electric System, was discussed King stated the city now has options on the electric system and that he will be attending a meeting concerning information of purchasing electric. He stated it looks like the city will get the best deal form Owensboro Municipal Utilities.

A motion was made and carried to have the 2nd reading for Ordinance for Electrical Inspection no 93-2014, and that Inspectors will be Allen Wilson and Johnny Parham.

A decision was made for the city to pay insurance quarterly instead of once a year. King stated it will be easier on funds to start paying quarterly.

Spring clean up was discussed, a decision was made to make available the first of April two dumpsters city residents. King stated CWI will make available for two weeks and the city will pay for two additional weeks. King stated that no tires, mattresses or appliance are allowed in the dumpsters.
