Barlow - With only one sub, as opposed to the 12 that sat on the McCracken County bench on Sept. 17th, the Bombers put forth a concerted effort against the Mustangs; although, they would ultimately walk away from the contest with a 1-11 loss.

The first half was a bit brutal as the Mustangs scored 4 goals within the first 10 minutes of play.  After struggling to keep possession of the ball, the Bombers scored a goal with 12 minutes left in the half via Senior Clayton Walker off of a PK from a MCHS handball in the box.

Junior midfielder Austin Walters took a shot on goal right before the end of the half, but was unable to secure the goal.  The half ended at 1-9 with MCHS in the lead.

The second half saw no one scoring for eleven minutes.  The Mustangs then lobbed in a ball, thereby adding yet another goal into their scoring account.  Shortly thereafter, the Mustangs’ Noah Wilkens landed a goal via a corner kick, and the Mustangs took the win with a score of 1-11.

The Bombers took the field again on Thursday, Sept. 19th as they played Caldwell County on Senior Recognition Night.  This time, the bench was more evenly matched, and the Bombers took the field with a strong 1 v 1 and passing strategy.

Senior Clayton Walker started the game in attacking mode with a “Game on” stance as he took a shot on goal just 5 minutes into the game; unfortunately, he was unable to sink the ball into the net.  Senior Weston Gordon also had a strong shot on goal, but it missed its mark and hit the side bar.

Despite the Bombers cross passes that lead to players charging the goal, they were unable to score.  Caldwell, however, was able to score 2 goals, bringing the score to 0-2 at the half.

The Tigers scored another goal within the first 6 minutes of play of the second half and then finished the half with another goal with just 2 minutes left to play.  The final score had the Tigers taking the win with a final score of 0-4.
