Burna gets new Village Post Office

Small communities like Burna Kentucky continue to lose basic services as businesses and government offices move to larger towns and cities. As a result of cutbacks at the Burna Post Office the community has had to adjust to reduced operating hours. The post office is only open from 10am to 2pm Monday through Friday.

With the opening of the new Village Post Office in Browns Country Store local residents can now conduct most mailing business at a more convienent time. Everything from mailing packages to purchasing stamps can be done during regular store hours from 5:30am to 6:00pm.

A ribbon cutting was held on Thursday January 23rd. Owners Melissa and Glenn Brown are very excited to offer this much needed service to the community. Not only can you conduct your postal business but they also have a very nice restaurant inside the Store. They prepare a variety of items from deli sandwiches to burgers and more. You can make one stop and grocery shop, mail a package and take home dinner all at one place. And don’t forget to pick up some delicious Red’s Donuts while you are there.
