Carlisle County Fiscal Court Meeting held
BARDWELL- The Carlisle County Fiscal Court met in regular session Tuesday April 1, 2014.
Those attending were County Judge/Executive Greg Terry, County Court Clerk Michael Toon, Magistrates Burley Mathis, Sonny Pearson, Lloyd Presson, Secretary Brandi Webb, Emergency Management Coordinator Carissa Viniard, 911 Dispatcher Donna Laird, Road Supervisor Jerry Bowman, Ambulance Director Wayne Floyd, Attorney Mike Hogancamp, Sheriff Steve Perry, Jailer Ronnie Owens, Visitors included Gordon Henshaw, Sara Bennett with the Carlisle County Weekly, and Lilly Morefield with the Carlisle County News.
Judge Terry called the meeting to order at 9:30AM and welcomed everyone for attending.
A motion made by Mathis with a second by Presson was carried to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.
During the Ambulance Report; Floyd stated the service had a total of 77 ambulance runs and 1 air run, and that $16,969.31 was received for the month.
Emergency Management Viniard stated that the Code Red testing did take place but if anyone who is not signed up to receive the Code Red can do so by going to the county web site and following the instructions.
Jail Report; Owens stated there are 4 inmates in Hickman and 3in Ballard County Detention Center.
Road Report; Road Supervisor Jerry Bowman, stated that crews have finished grading and are now shouldering and digging out ditches.
911 and Solid Waste Report; Laird stated the county Spring Clean Up dumpsters are out and are being used. She also stated that department have applied for a grant for a recycling trailer that will be used for cardboard and paper, and that the grant is 100% payable.
New Business; adding new trails to the Carlisle County River Trails were discussed. Terry stated that several residents have contacted him asking if more trails can be added to the River Trails System. After discussion a decision was made to wait and get more information on the trails before making a decision on adding additional trails. Also a decision was made to let Dee Wright sell Carlisle County River Trail permits to riders who are riding on her property and want to ride on the River Trails.
Second Reading of Budget Amendment #14-1-1 was approved. Terry stated the ground work now being done for the EMS and Extension Service Building and after that the building will go up pretty fast.
Other motions made and approved were the transfers and to pay claims.
