Carlisle County Food Bank receives produce from local farmers

BARDWELL - On Tuesday July 29, Carlisle County Road Department worker along with a crew unloaded produce at West Kentucky Allied Office in Bardwell. The produce is donated by local farmers to the PADD Office in Mayfield. The produce is then transported from that location to local food banks.

The Carlisle County Judge’s Office sponsors the food bank located at the WKAS Office in Bardwell. The food is given away to local people in need and is part of the Feeding America Program. Anyone wanting to donate to the Carlisle County Food Bank can do so by contacting the Judge/Executive Greg Terry or to make monetary donations mail to Carlisle County Food Bank PO Box 279 Bardwell KY 42023.

WKAS is part of Community Action Kentucky (CAK) and is a non-profit corporation domiciled in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Community Action Kentucky represents the 23 Kentucky community action agencies that provide social services throughout the 120 counties in Kentucky.

In Kentucky, community action responds to the following community needs by providing: employment services, education services, financial and asset building, transportation services, housing services, energy assistance and nutrition services.

Service area includes, Ballard, Calloway, Carlisle, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Marshall and McCracken.
