Carlisle County Museum and Library meeting held at new facility

BARDWELL- On Thursday Aug 15, board members held their monthly meeting at the new Museum and Library location at the former United Methodist Church in Bardwell.

Members who attended were Marylan and Charles Lester, Rob and Mariam McLain, Wayne Halliday, Zane Teeters, Murray Akers, Leon and Faye Todd, Peggy Henshaw, Joyce Adams, and Lilly Morefield.

During the treasure report Henshaw stated that a donation in the amount of $20 was made to the Museum and Library in honor of Minnie Alice Ward. Also a donation of $100 was received from the Women of the Corinth United Methodist Church in Cunningham.

Business discussed was a plan for the move into the new building. Museum items are now located in a vault at the old courthouse location. Library books also stored at the vault with some stored at a board member home. President Rob McLain stated that the move would begin as soon as the deed is completed.

A grand opening will be held after the move and everything is in place.

The next Museum and Library meeting is scheduled for September 19 at 6pm.
