Cecil J. Holder, 88, of Bardwell passed away at his home Wednesday August 20, 2014 at 7:40 am. Cecil worked as a timber cutter and was head saw man at McFarland Lumber Company in Cairo, IL. for twenty-four years. Mr. Holder was survived by two daughters, Rita Shrodes, and Cathy Holder both of Bardwell; three sons, Gary Holder of Bardwell, Roy Holder of Paducah, and Jimmy Holder of Paducah; twelve grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Holder and Blanche Webb Holder; three brothers, and one sister. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 23, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell, with Rev. Bill Roberts officiatied. Burial followed at Roselawn cemetery. Shelia Carol Ping, 56, of Clinton died 6:28 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at her home. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Clinton and was the co-owner and bookkeeper for Superior Stone & Stucco of Montgomery, Texas, from 2001 to 2011. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Tim Ping; her mother, Nell Yates Nethery of Fulton; two daughters, Tara Ping of Spring, Texas, and Tya Aton of Clinton; four sons, Corey Johnson of South Fulton, Tennessee, Dustin Williams of Hickman County, Timmy Ping of Columbia, South Carolina, and Chris Ping of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Wilson of Wingo and Jerry Luter of Clinton; and one brother, Danny Graves of South Fulton. She was preceded in death by her father, Collie Graves. Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at First Assembly of God in Clinton. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery. Bailey Hayes, 71, of Graves County, formerly of Hickman County, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, in Graves County. Mr. Hayes was formerly employed by the Fields-Ashby Saw Mill. He is survived by his wife, Everlene Morgan Hayes, of Columbus, Georgia; a daughter, Marilyn Flowers, of Columbus; a son, Terry Hayes, of Mayfield; and a brother, Luther Hayes, of Chicago. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. His parents were Bailey Hayes Sr. and Annie Lee Smith Hayes. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Clinton. The Rev. Tony Johnson will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home at the funeral hour.
Loyd Edward Wiley, 83, of Westland, Michigan, formerly of Hickman, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Angel Hospice in Livonia, Michigan. He was a veteran of the Air Force, retired from Ford Motor Company and a member of Wallace St. Full Gospel Temple in Westland, Michigan. He is survived by three sons, Mike Wiley of Westland, Michigan, David Wiley of Garden City, Michigan, and Greg Wiley of Cypress, Texas; one daughter, Theresa Van Houcke of Canton, Michigan; one brother, Charles Wiley of Hickman; one sister, Peggy Sue Thomas of Union City, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Morrow) Wiley; and one granddaughter, Crystal Wiley. His parents were Charlie and Mable (Blanton) Wiley. Services were at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Strong Funeral Home the Revs. Jason Sipes and Nancy Varden officiated. Burial was in Hickman City Cemetary with military rites conducted.
Mrs. Shelley Anne Teems, age 52, of Fancy Farm, KY passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 1:54 p.m. at the Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Shelley was of the Baptist faith and worked at the former NCI Lamp Factory in Cunningham and Pilgrims Pride Processing Plant. Survivors include her husband, Carl Teems of Fancy Farm; daughter, Martha (Derek) Lemons of Bardwell; son, Eddie Teems of Fancy Farm; brothers Douglas Lawson and Clint Lawson of Beverly, KY; and four grandchildren: Jaxon Lemons, Rylee Lemons, Brycen Teems, and Maddox Lemons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Margaret Asher Lawson. Funeral services for Shelley were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY with Rev. David Sphinx officiated. Burial will be in the Wingo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Eddie Teems, Derek Lemons, Justin Wilson, Michael Toon, and Glenn Lawson.
