Denver O.C. Elliott, age 92, of Arlington, passed away at 5:00 pm on September 19, 2015 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY. Mr. Elliott was the great-grandson of a Charter member who started Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as church clerk for 40 years and was the oldest male member. He was also a member of the H.C. Lamkin American Legion Post #250, Bardwell Masonic Lodge #499, Order of the Eastern Star Bardwell Chapter #485 and Woodman of the World Lodge #38. Mr. Elliott was a WWII Army Veteran and was one of the first twelve soldiers handpicked to be stationed at Los Alamos, New Mexico, more notably referred to as the Manhattan Project. Mr. Elliott retired in 1990 from Air Products in Calvert City, KY. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of 74 years, Dorothy Williams Elliott; two daughters, Marylyn E. Hilston and husband Charles of Pennsylvania, Jada Elliott of Arlington, KY; one son, Phil Elliott and wife Sherie of Bardwell, KY; one brother, Robert W. Elliott of Benton, KY; daughter-in-law, Patricia Elliott of Bardwell, KY; seven grandchildren, David Lynn Elliott, Steven Elliott, Lori Benson, Chris Moore, Kayla Potts, Katy Hilston, Alyssa Elliott; eleven great-grandchildren, Danielle Potter, Michael River Elliott, Derik Elliott, Morgan Elliott, Shiloh Elliott, Tori Benson, Neil Benson, Brooklyn Blakney, Skylar Harman, Raelyn Jones, Landon Jones; three great-great-grandchildren, Cason Potter, Rhileigh Elliott, Adalynn Potter. Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by his parents, George W. and Hallie Furlong Elliott; one son, Denver Lynn Elliott; one brother, Farrel H. Elliott. Funeral services for Mr. Elliott will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with Rev. Gaylon Bruer officiating and Charles Hilston assisting. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery with Military rites. Visitation for Mr. Elliott will from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with a Masonic rites starting at 7:30 pm. Fredrick Amos "F.A." Thomason, age 86, of Bardwell passed away at 4:00 a.m. Sunday, September 20, 2015 while surrounded by his family, to go to be with the Lord. F.A. resided in Bardwell, Carlisle County, Kentucky. Mr. Thomason was employed by Union Carbide/ Martin-Marietta for nearly 40 years. He was a maintenance mechanic and welder. He retired March 31, 1992. F.A. was a dedicated member of Bardwell Baptist Church for sixty one years. He served as the Men's Class #2 Sunday School teacher, deacon, and choir member. F.A. had many talents and hobbies. In his younger years, he enjoyed waterfowl and quail hunting. He always kept and trained good bird dogs. F.A.'s favorite hobby was crappie fishing. He spent many days on Kentucky and Barkley Lakes fishing. He was a member of the Berkley Giants with the Twin States Baseball League and the OCAW_ Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers Union. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Mae Gibson Thomason; one daughter, Janice Sue Thomason Clark and husband, Garry D. of Lone Oak, KY.; two special grand daughters, Emilee P. Clark and Carry D. Clark Summarell and husband, Jason of Paducah; two great granddaughters, Molly and Kate Summarell; one brother, Bennett Thomason and wife Sue of Bardwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornell and Gazel Jones Thomason; two daughters Kathy Jean Thomason and Anna Gale Thomason. Funeral services will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell at 1:00 p.m. on September 23, 2015 with burial following in Berkley cemetery. Rev. Edward Gibson and Dr. Greg McFadden will officiate. Visitation will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.

Mary Sue Underwood Curt-singer, 81, of Warren, Michigan, formerly of Fulton, died Saturday, September 12, 2015, at the Rivers Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. She was a member of St. Louise Catholic Church in Warren and a retired secretary for Health Alliance Plan in Troy, Michigan. Mrs. Curtsinger is survived by one son, Michael Curtsinger of Fancy Farm; one daughter, Susan Kuhl of Grosse Pointe Woods; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Curtsinger; one sister; and two brothers. Her parents were James and Myrtle Chappell Underwood. A funeral Mass for Mrs. Curtsinger was held at noon Saturday, September 19, 2015, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm. The Rev. Darrell Venters officiated. Burial followed in St. Jerome Cemetery. Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield was in charge of arrangements.
