Children...by Dr. J.T. Parish

“Children now live in luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love to chatter in place of exercise.”
“Children are now tyrants of the household. They no longer rise when an elder enters the room, and they contradict their parents. They chatter before company and gobble up the food at the table. They cross their legs and tyrannize their teachers.”
Socrates made that statement over 2,000 years ago. The older generation has always thought the younger generation was “going to the dogs.”
The truth is: Man is a fallen creature. Human beings are born with a sinful nature. This is the reason everyone needs Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. This is why you MUST be born again to be fit for heaven.
As for children, the Bible says they are a heritage of the Lord. Parents are told to bring them up in the way they should go, in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Our younger generation is not going to the dogs. Some of the most dedicated Christians on earth are young people.
