City of Mayfield announces plans for Winterfest 2017

Let the Holiday Season begin! Help the City of Mayfield kick-off the Christmas Season with the annual Winterfest on November 25th, 2017. The celebration will begin with Santa visiting Mayfield. Santa Claus will be in his house in front of the Court House from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 25. Parents are invited to bring cameras to take their child's picture with Santa. At 5 p.m. the Lions Club Lighted Christmas Parade will get underway, coming down 7th Street, around the courthouse square and up 6th Street.

Fulton County Transit, who is serving the Mayfield community with much needed public transportation, will help kick-off the season of giving and good cheer by providing free transportation to and from downtown for anyone that calls their Fulton office for a ride. They will make sure those who ride are returned home, as well. This offer is only good for Winterfest on November 25. The phone number to call is 270-472-0662. Call to reserve your free ride on the day before, or the day of.

Due to popular demand, the Ice Skating Rink on the east side of City Hall will return this year. The rink will be open starting November 25 through November 27 from Noon to 8 p.m. The fee is $5 per skater, age 5 and above. Rental skates will also be available.

Cartwright Grove Western Village at the Fairgrounds will begin its Holiday Open House on the morning of November 25th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Santa's Roundup. Boys and girls ages 10 and under will have donuts and milk with Santa. There will also be a "gift" for each child, games with prizes, covered wagon rides and lots of fun. The cost is $5 per child.

On Saturday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., after the Mayfield Christmas Parade, Cartwright Grove will have BBQ nachos or BBQ sandwiches, chips, dessert & drink for $6 per person. Admission will be $2 per person. Age 10 & under admission is free. There will be holiday music, caroling, holiday decorations & campfires. Covered Wagon rides will be available for $2 each. Come spend some time "on the farm" for the holidays. Cartwright Grove's other open dates are: December 8-9 and December 15-16, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. nightly. Come on out and help us celebrate!
