Grimes visits Livingston County
By Pat Thomann, Editor
On Thursday July 31st, Allison Lundergan Grimes made a stop in Smithland Kentucky to visit with democratic supporters. Grimes was on her way to the Annual Fancy Farm Picnic where she spoke about changes she wanted to see made in Kentucky government.
Grimes is in hopes of unseating currents Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has been Kentucky's Senator for the past 30 years, in the November primary.
While in Smithland, Grimes met with Livingston County supporters at the Levee Restaurant. County officials, Democratic Committee members and interested citizens filled the restaurant to hear what she had to say.
Grimes spoke about what changes she would make if elected and the change in direction she would like to see the state make. In the last year Grimes has visited over 100 counties and still counting.
Whether you are a supporter of Grimes or McConnell, make sure you make every effort to make your vote count on November 4, 2014. If we do not vote we have no right to complain about those elected. We also have several important Livingston county races this year, so make sure to cast your vote in November.
