LACENTER - The first snow for 2018 came on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2018 dropping about 2 inches on Ballard County.
Snow began to fall on Wednesday about 2:30 p.m. and lasted through the night into Thursday morning with a little extra snowfall later around noon.
School was officially called off on Thursday morning about 5 a.m.
Road crews had covered the roads on Wednesday prior to the snowfall, that helped ensure that the roads were mostly clear on Thursday morning, but temps and melting caused chances of black ice and some slick spots on bridges.
The picture above shows LaCenter about noon on Thursday when a few flakes had picked back up and added a little to the already 2 inches on the ground.
Another snowfall has yet to be predicted.
KSP advise motorists to stay off of the roads during these weather events. Not only for their safety but for the safety of the road crews as well.
Stay back from the Road Dept. Trucks and let them do their job accurately and safely.
