In The Beginning
Until recent years most scientists believed the universe is eternal. It had no beginning, it simply always existed. Then Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity indicated otherwise. The only problem was Einstein was so set on his belief in an eternal universe that he questioned his own theory and came up with another theory called the “Fudge Factor.” Not only was the fudge factor proven to be wrong, Einstein made a trip to California to see for himself through the Hubble Telescope the visible evidence that the universe had a beginning.
Things with beginnings have a beginner. As Ken Ham told Bill Nye, there is a Book! The first words in that book tell us “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) The scientist climbed the mountain of scientific discovery and when he arrived the theologian was sitting there with his Bible opened to the first page!
Scientific discovery is a marvelous pursuit if we realize we are studying the marvels of the handiwork of an omniscient, almighty God. When science tries to discover and explain without God there is much speculation and many unexplained mysteries. “Where did consciousness come from?” from material atoms to intelligent human life is a mystery science cannot explain. The Book tells us, “God formed man out of the dust of the earth and breathed into Him the breath of life.
Study science but don’t forget there is a Book that tells us about the God that created and sustained it all.
