Judith C. Branam

FLORIDA - Judith C. Branam, age 81 of Pensacola, Florida, previously of Jasper, passed away on July 25, 2020 at home surrounded by family.

She received her ministerial license and founded the United Pentecostal Church in Palatka, Florida and Jasper Apostolic UPC in Jasper, Indiana and was also the founder and administrator of the Jasper Christian Academy.

Funeral services for Judith C. Branam were held on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the Jasper Apostolic United Pentecostal Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial at the Jasper Enlow City Cemetery. Pastor Howard Geck officiated the service.

Lucille J. Schilling

JASPER - Lucille J. Schilling, age 93, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the home of her daughter.

Lucille was a homemaker and retired from Siebert's in Jasper, where she had worked in retail sales for over 20 years.

A Mass of Christian burial for Lucille J. Schilling was on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Karen Rose Sermersheim

JASPER - Karen Rose Sermersheim, age 77, of Jasper, Indiana, formerly of Hickory, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Karen worked in the offices of Aristokraft in Jasper for 12 years and moved to Hickory, North Carolina, and worked for King Hickory Furniture in the data order entry and invoicing departments for 32 years and part time in the deli of Lowe's Foods in Hickory, North Carolina.

JASPER - Richard J. Fischer, age 74, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana.

Noretta Viola Tedrow

Noretta Viola Tedrow, age 82 of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 29,2020 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Noretta worked at the Jasper Desk Company and was a cook at the V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper with burial in Truelove Cemetery, Loogootee, IN. Rev. Bessie Adams officiated the service.

Al and Betty Dickman Celebration of Life

A Celebration of Life for Al and Betty Dickman, formerly of Dubois, was held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at St. Peter's UCC in Dubois Indiana. A funeral service was held followed by a gravesite service and burial of ashes in St. Peter's Cemetery.

Jessica F. Harker

Jessica F. Harker, age 72, of Bloomington, Indiana, formerly of Jasper, passed away on Monday, July
27, 2020 at Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper.

Jessica retired from Crane as a mechanical engineer.

A private memorial service will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

John E. Eckerle M.D.

John E. Eckerle M.D. passed from this life to eternal life on July 23, 2020, at the age of 95. He was born in Jasper, IN.

John was a veteran having served during WWII as a German interpreter in the POW camps in America and was an administrative NCO. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

He was also a charter member of the Jasper High School Band and Orchestra, playing the French horn. He was also a member of the Jasper Municipal (City) Band under the direction of Leo Durlauf and the Haysville Band.

Dr. Eckerle served as Medical Director at Reynolds Metal Co. in Louisville, KY and worked as a surgical thoracic assistant at Silvercrest Hospital, New Albany, IN, and staff physician at Dupont Chemical Co. and General Electric Appliance Park.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper. The VFW Post #673 conducted military gravesite rites.
