KPI Newspaper Group pleased to endorse Thomann as new Livingston Ledger Editor
When I got the news that our former editor, Kurt Englehardt, was stepping down to take a full time position at Murray State’s Paducah campus, I had Kurt post an announcement on our Face Book page about the new opening for his replacement.
If you have not visited our Face Book page, I’ll tell you that it’s the best newspaper Face Book page in the state.
I immediately had several responses to the position. Many of those were really good, and my first thought on getting one from one our current employees but I knew that my wife would not like me taking her assistant away.
You see, my wife, Teresa LeNeave, is the head of accounting and bookkeeping at KPI Newspaper Group. Her number one assistant is none other than the same person mentioned in the headline, Pat Thomann. Pat plays a very vital part on the accounting and bookkeeping team at KPI.
Pat is a person who knows everything about our newspaper group and she’s truely a very hard worker. She’s also a very good writer with ties to Livingston county.
She was born in Salem and went to elementary school in Hampton. Her mother used to work at the old Hale’s Hotel & Restaurant in Smithland, plus Pat fondly remembers catching the Greyhound Bus in downtown Smithland at what is now the Livingston Ledger office.
Needless to say, Pat is a true Livingston Countian at heart. She and her husband Kenny, live down at the lake in Grand Rivers during the warm weather months and in Lone Oak the rest of the time.
Pat has two sons, Larry and Keith Jones both of Paducah. Pat and Kenny have 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grand children with one great-grand child on the way.
As for her goals for the newspaper, Pat really wants to be accessible to the folks in the county and she stated that “My goal for the Ledger is to make it so interesting, that readers will eagerly await the next issue to see what is happening in the Livingston County area; and that they will call me with their news and county events.”
Pat Thomann will be in the Ledger office in Smithland every Wednesday from 9 am until 4 pm. Her co-worker Rebekah Tatum, advertising account executive, will be in the office every Thursday from 9 am til 4 pm and and Friday 9 am til 12 pm
