Labor Day a big day for Trade Day shoppers and vendors
By Lilly Morefield
MAYFIELD - Trade Day was a big and busy event during Monday September 1, Labor Day. Row after row of vendors filled the fair ground looking to make a sale or two during the morning hours.
Trade Day is held each Monday opening at 5am until 2pm. But when it comes on a holiday it has more sellers and visitors. Vendors line up at the gate waiting to get in when they open at 5am, then its first come first serve. There are inside and outside spaces available along with some shelters.
Buyers flock in looking for a one of a kind item and taking advantage of all the bargains that are available.
At Trade Day you can find most anything from chickens, ducks, goats dogs, tools, fishing gear, house hold items, antiques, collectables and much more. You never know what you may find at Trade Day.
If you get hungry while browsing, there are food and beverage vendors including a homemade Hot Tamale Vendor on the premises.
Trade Day is held at Mayfield Fair Grounds located at 1004 Houseman Street. For more information call 270-705-5888.
