Livingston Fiscal Court update

The Livingston County Fiscal Court met on Tuesday March 25th. After the Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation, the meeting was called to order. Roll call was made and Magistrates Brent Ferrell, Franklin Walker, Terry Stringer, Marvin Buford and Judge Executive Chris Lasher were present.

The Minutes of the February meeting were approved. In old business the Second Reading of Budget Amendment #2 was passed. The Treasurer’s Report and Transfers was read and approved. Reports for the Jail Budget and the Ambulance Budget were read and approved. A date for April 15th at 8:00am was sent for the Budget Workshop.

Due to the harsh winter the county has seen, the board recognized the need for road repair work in all four districts. Each district will receive materials and manpower for the repair of potholes beginning with the worst areas.

The board discussed the Petition for Adoption of Decker Landing Road. More information is needed before a decision can be made. The board did make the decision to make repairs to a 15’x35’ low water section of Nelson Road, approving the hiring of Jimmy Hammonds to make the repairs at a cost of $5650.00.

In other business the board approved a donation of $500 to the Marshall County Veteran Van Program. The van is made accessible to Livingston County Veterans and provides a much needed service.

Spring cleanup dates were set for April 24th, 25th and 26th.

The County Court Clerk and Sheriff’s Department presented their year-end reports which were approved.

The next meeting of the Livingston County Fiscal Court will be April 22nd at 5:00pm. All citizens of Livingston County are welcome to attend
