Mr. William Garland Baker, age 83 of Symsonia, KY., passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at 9:35 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. Born Wednesday, December 25, 1929, (Christmas day) in Symsonia, KY., he retired after 22 years of service as a welder from Three Rivers Rock Company in Smithland, KY. He was a member of Elva Baptist Church. Surviving are three sons, Michael Baker of Wichita, KS, Roger Watkins of Symsonia, KY and Richard Watkins of Ledbetter, KY., four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. One brother, Gaylon Baker of Milwaukee, WI., also survives. Mr. Baker was preceeded in death by his wife Lucy Ann (McManis) Baker, four brothers; George Baker, Ray Lee Baker, Nolvice Baker, Virgil Baker and one sister, Pauline Cox. Also preceding in death were his parents, William Miles Baker and Lila Gail (Bell) Baker. Funeral Services were held August 8, 2013 in the Chapel of the Collier Funeral Home. Bro. Mike Littrell and Bro. Joel Frizzell officiated. Interment followed the service in the New Sand Hill Cemetery in Graves County, KY. The family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Elva Baptist Church Building Fund,2539 Oak Level-Elva Rd Symsonia, KY 42082.

Mrs. Margie Hosick Williams, 88, of Salem, KY, passed away August 5, 2013, at her home. Mrs. Williams was employed by Moore Business Forms for over 28 years, and was a member of Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Thompson and her husband Rickie of Salem; two step-children, Harley Deon Williams and his wife Donna of Salem; and Steve Williams and his wife Kathy of Louisville, KY;  two sisters, Faye Croft and Alice Day, both of Salem, KY; one grandson, Brad Huffine and his wife Lettie of Salem; one great grandson, Drake Huffine; several step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Everett Hosick; her second husband, Harley Williams; step-son, Bob Williams; brother, Ted Noel; and her parents, Virgil and Naomi Myrick Noel. Funeral services were held August 9, 2013 in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors, with the Rev’s. David LeNeave and Mike Atkins officiating.  Burial followed in Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hopewell Cemetery Fund, 1145 Lola Road, Salem, KY 42078, or Bethel Cemetery Fund, 864 Bethel Hill Road, Salem, KY  42078. Condolences may also be left online at boydfuneraldirectors.com.

Mrs. Beatrice Croft, 78 years of age, of Salem, born July 1, 1935, passed away Sunday morning, August 11, 2013, at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services. She attended Ditney General Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Croft of Salem; two sons, Mike Croft of Lola and Marsha Hosick of Salem, Terry and Becky Croft of Salem; five grandchildren, Rachel and Chris Guess of Salem, Jonathan Croft of Salem, Brandon Croft of Ledbetter, JoAnna Croft of Salem, and Lucas Croft of Ledbetter. Preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Muriel and Lubie Roach of Salem and Lonnie Monroe of Carrsville. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at 1PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors, with the Rev’s. Kenneth Watson, Jerry Merritt, and David Davis officiating. Entombment will follow in Salem Cemetery. Mrs. Croft was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be greatly missed. Condolences may also be left online at boydfuneraldirectors.com.
