Mr. Wesley Norman “Pete” Vick, 64, of Smithland, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013, at his home. Mr. Vick was a huntsman, fisherman, Vietnam Veteran, 33rd Degree Mason, card-carrying Kentucky Colonel, and a heavy crane operator.  He retired from the Tennessee Valley Authorities. Mr. Vick was a well traveled individual, visiting both North and South Poles.  He had tread on every continent, crossed every international date line, and visited every state in the union, including Puerto Rico. Mr. Vick was born September 6, 1948, to Winifred Turner Vick and Robert Watson Vick, both deceased. He is survived by his longtime companion, Sharon Bement; five sisters, Kathleen Moodie of Smithland, KY, Sally Ann Hathaway of Apache Junction, AZ, Sheila Vick of Westmorland, TN, Nina Lisa Vick of Sebastopol, CA, and Glenn Vick of Las Cruses, NM; three brothers, David Clifford Vick of Paducah, KY, Sherrill Eugene Vick of Campo, CA, and Henry Allen Vick of Lytham, UK.  He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and one great grand nephew. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dewey Vick and Melvin Charles Vick. Masonic funeral rites on August 16, 2013 in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.   Burial with military honors followed in the Vick Cemetery. Brad Jeffrey, 53, of Fredonia died Wednesday at  Crittenden County Hospital. Mr Jeffrey was a Supervisor at C.C.M.A. in Calvert City and a member of Ohio Valley Baptist Church. Surviving are 1-Daughter, Erica Jeffrey of Fredonia, Ky. 1-Brother, Harry Jeffrey of Smithland, 2-Sisters, Sheila Ray of Ledbetter, Shawnie Jennings of Lone Oak, several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Father-James Waudell Jeffrey, Mother-Hallie Mae Smith Jeffrey, 1-Daughter, Jennifer Jeffrey, 1-Brother and 2-Nephews. Visitation will be at 4:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Saturday at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland.  There will be no services.  Online condolences may be left at smithfc.com

Nancy R. Jackson, 65, of Paducah died  August 9, 2013, at her home.She is survived by her husband, Elzie Jackson of Salem; two sons, Matt Jackson of Salem and Steffan Jackson of Calvert City; two brothers; two sisters; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. Her parents were Coy Rushing and Rosie Adams Rushing. Memorial services were held August 17, 2013, at Salem Baptist Church with Chuck Ellis officiating.  Lindsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Roy Marley Hall, 77, of Paducah, passed away at 5:26 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Baptist Health Paducah.  Mr. Hall was of the Baptist faith and a retired professional painter. Mr. Hall is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Sheridan Hall; three daughters, Janice Gayle Hall of Paducah, Cindy Lou Quertermous of Smithland, KY and Rhonda Kaye Lee of Burna, KY; four grandchildren, Corey Quertermous, Adam Quertermous, Marley Lee and Cleo Lee; four great grandchildren, Dalton Quertermous, Brea Quertermous, Luke Quertermous and Kayedon Lee Hodge; one sister, Phyllis Jean Hall of Paducah; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Hall is preceded in death by a daughter, Brittany Renee Hall; four sisters, Bessie Sutton, Ruby Rea Cooper, Anna Lee Langham and Claudine Herald.  His parents were, Claude and Ruby Quertermous Hall. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Gayle Barnes officiating.  Burial will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Mrs. Barbara Babb, 74, of Lola, KY, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Baptist Health of Paducah. Barbara was born November 23, 1938 to Henry M. Jacobs and Gladys (House) Guill. She was a member of Ohio Valley Baptist Church in Ledbetter, KY.  She also attended Lola Pentecostal Church, and Creekside Baptist Church. Barbara is survived by her husband, Charles Babb of Lola, KY; one son, Stephen B. Coffer of Ledbetter, KY; her mother, Gladys Guill of Paducah, KY and her husband Bill; three sisters, Sharon Armstrong of Paducah, KY, Donna Jones of Ledbetter, KY, and Kathy Lynch of Gilbertsville, KY; five nieces; three nephews; 14 great nieces and nephews;  family/special friends, Kim Champion and Linda May also survive. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry M. Jacobs, and one brother, Michael R. Jacobs. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 2PM, at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem, with the Rev. Terry Mitcheson officiating. Burial will follow in Lola Cemetery.
