Mrs. Leona Virginia (Ginger) Ramage, 81, of Houston, TX, formerly of Burna, KY, passed away March 22, 2013 in Houston, TX. Leona traveled and lived extensively across the United States.  In her later years, she returned to her roots, in Kentucky, where he settled with her husband in 1995. Leona never met a stranger.  She very much enjoyed her time volunteering at the Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services Gift Shop, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by three children, Debbie Mason, and her husband of Boise, ID; Greg Ramage and Ruth Ann Elliott, and her husband of Woodlands, TX; two granddaughters and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Rayford Ramage; and her parents, Carter and Ruth Johnson. Memorial services were held September 29, 2013, at 2PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.  Burial of the cremains followed in Smithland Cemetery.  Condolences may be left online at boydfuneraldirectors.com.   


Don Poindexter, 71, of Ledbetter, passed away September 26, 2013, at his residence.  Don was the owner and operator of Poindexter Irrigation, a member of Ledbetter Church of Christ, and a Kentucky Colonel. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Barbara Ann Watkins Poindexter; daughter, Kimberly Jones and husband Thomas of Lone Oak; son Jeffery Poindexter and  Kim of Marshall County; one sister, Carol Watson of Reidland; one brother, Kenny Poindexter of Hampton KY; six grandchildren, Michael Poindexter, Laura Poindexter, Dakota Rounds, Channing Jones, Jessica Jones, Aaron Edmonds; and two great grandchildren, Brooklyn Sue Fike, and Liam Edmonds. He was preceded in death by one brother Billy Poindexter; and his parents Harry and Faye Hurley Poindexter. Mrs. Leona Belt, 71, of Lola, KY, passed away Friday, September 27,2013, at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services. She was a member of the Lola Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her husband, Billy Belt; six children, Terri Patch, Ron Harris, Darlene Freeman, Sara Belt, Eric Davis, and Darren Davis; two step children, Brenda Jackson, and Mark Belt; sixteen brothers and sisters; eighteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ules and Valada Shuecraft Harris; step mother, Estelle Byford; two brothers; one sister; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, at 1PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem, with the Bro Tim Fouts officiating. Burial will follow in Lola Cemetery. Visitation will be  from 5 to 8PM Wednesday in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem, KY. Condolences may also be made online at boydfuneraldirectors.com.



Mr. Donald Tabor, 66, of Salem, KY, passed away Friday, September 27,2013, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Belinda Tabor of Salem, Ky; his father, Paul Tabor; four children, Dawn Lamb, Jerrod Jennings, Trent Jennings, and Rachel Jennings; four brothers, Robert Tabor, Kenny Tabor, Larry Tabor, and Paul Jr. Tabor; five sisters, Beverly Hunter, Gloria Guess, Debbie Bryan, Joan Watson, and Sharon Slayden; two grandchildren, Dakota Lamb, and Chelsea Jennings. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann DiMarco Tabor; two brothers, John Paul Tabor, and Wayne Tabor. Funeral services wereheld Monday, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors, with the Bro’s Troy Newcomb and Jim Wring officiating. Burial followed in Deer Creek Cemetery.  Condolences may also be made online at boydfuneraldirectors.com.


Larry Driskill, 74, of Smithland died Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Paducah.  Arrangements were incomplete at Smith Funeral Chapel of Smithland.


Mr. J.C. Monroe, 79, of Burna, KY, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Livingston Hospital and healthcare Services in Salem. J.C. was born July 25, 1934, to Hugh and Alda Williams Monroe. He was a member of Old Salem Baptist Church in Salem, KY, and retired from ISP in Calvert City in 1997. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vivian Ann Monroe of Salem, KY; four children, Jimmy L. Monroe and his wife Connie of Smithland, KY, Darrell R. Monroe and his wife Peggy of Morganfield, KY, Harold J. Monroe and his wife Ruth of Hendersonville, TN, and Sherry Monroe Gamlin of Spring Hill, TN; seven grandchildren, Jamey Monroe and his wife Donna, Charity Monroe-Lynn, and her husband Dale, Elizabeth Monroe, Kara Monroe, Sara Monroe, Mitchell Monroe, and Claire Gamlin; five great granddaughters; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jimmy and Geraldine Barnes. He was preceded in death
