Robert “Bob” M. Daniels, 73, of Tiline, KY, formerly of Ada, Ohio, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home with his family and best friend, Dewey Yates by his side. Bob fought a brave fight against cancer for several years. Bob is survived by his wife, Mona Daniels of 23 years and two stepdaughters Lisa Dunaway-Maldonado and husband J.R. and Lana Houston and husband Timothy; three grandchildren, Laken Abernathy and husband Thomas, Ethan Houston and Cole Houston; and one great grandchild, Caden Abernathy. Also surviving is one brother Ray Daniels. He was preceded in death by his father Melvin Daniels and his mother Thelma Reeb-Daniels. Bob was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served on the USS Amberjack SS-522 submarine from 1958-1962. He was a member of the Smithland United Methodist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved watching UK Basketball with his wife at home, which they shared with their “four legged” children, Sadie and Gracie. Bob loved watching the Hummingbirds and deer from his rocking chair on the back porch and made sure there was always food for them when they came to “visit”. Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and will be truly missed by all that knew him. Funeral services with military honors were December 2, 2013 at Boyd Funeral Directors, 212 E. Main Street in Salem, KY with Pastor Brad Shuck officiating. Burial at Adams Cemetery in Rock Creek, Il.
Robert Earl McKendree, 80, of Smithland passed away 7:30 am Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Paducah Center.
He was a retired labor for the local 1214 and a United States Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his five daughters, Barbara Roper, Gwen Blackwood, Cindy Clark, Ann Hawkins, Lynn Odell, all of South Carolina; three sons, Arnold “Dean” McKendree of Smithland, Buddy McKendree of Alabama, Ronnie McKendree of Florida; one stepson, Darrell New of Paducah; one stepdaughter, Tamela Jill Smith of Smithland; four sisters, Anna Ford of Paducah, Charlotte Temple Dover of Benton, Mary Halloway of Paducah, Donna Scheffer of Arkansas; two brothers, Joe McKendree of Murray, Arvil McKendree of Paducah; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Ledbetter McKendree, one brother, one sister, and his parents, Haze McKendree and Lucille Green McKendree.
