Larry M. Armstrong, 70, of Smithland went home to be with the lord at 9:40 P.M. Friday, December 6, 2013, at Livingston County Hospital in Salem, KY. Mr. Armstrong was employed by TELICS Engineering Contractors for AT&T. He was a retired Army Veteran as a Recruiter and Master Sergeant of 27 years; he was a member and Sunday School Teacher at Fellowship Baptist Church of Smithland. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Diane (Croft) Armstrong; 2 daughters, Tamela Kirkham and husband Stacy of Smithland, Misty Champion of Marion; 4 grandchildren, Jordan Mitchell and husband Chuck of Morehead, Kaitlin Kirkham of Smithland, Taylor and Madison Champion of Marion; 2 great-grandchildren, Landon and Savannah Mitchell; 1 brother, Dennis Armstrong of Calvert City. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Pauline (McCandless) Armstrong; 3 brothers, Joe Armstrong, Jim Armstrong, Bill Armstrong. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Bro. Michael Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Ledbetter with Full Military Rites. Pallbearers will be Taylor Champion, Stacy Kirkham, Brandon Armstrong, Jonathon Armstrong, Jeff Armstrong, Ricky Armstrong. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Armstrong and Marshall Parrish. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Cooper Frederick Jr., 83, of Grand Rivers died Friday, December 6, 2013, at Lourdes hospital. He was a retired crane operator with Local 150 Operating Engineers Union. He is survived by his wife, Anna Jo O’Neal Frederick; two sons, Kevin Frederick of Possum Trot and Scott Frederick of Crown Point, Ind.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters. His parents were Cooper Frederick Sr. and Ollie Belle Johnson Frederick. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Ed Hollis officiating. Burial will follow at Dixon Cemetery in Grand Rivers with military rites. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville.

William Jinks Stewart, 90, of Cadiz, died Friday, December 6, 2013, at his home. He retired from Airco Alloys in Calvert City and was a lifelong farmer. He was a WWII US Navy veteran and was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. He was survived by his wife, Mayme “Pete” Skinner Stewart; one son, Ronnie Stewart of Cadiz; his daughter, Rita Swift of Dover, Tenn.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, William Bryant Stewart; his mother, Ethel Mitchell Stewart; one son, William Darrell Stewart; two brothers; and two sisters. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2013, Goodwin Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Bunch and Irvin Darnall officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013, at the funeral home.

Dorothy Tooke, 89, of Cadiz died Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Franciscan Health Center in Louisville. She retired from Trigg Manor Nursing Home as Administrator and was an LPN for 30 years. She is survived by one brother, Lynwood Armstrong of Louisville; and one sister, Norma Dean Alexander of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Tooke. Her parents were John Herbert Wyatt and Della Hester Wyatt Armstrong Rogers. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at King’s Funeral Home with Malcolm Ray Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the East End Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to East Cadiz Baptist Church, 407 Third Street, Cadiz, KY 42211

Dominick Michael Abate, II, 43, of Cadiz died Thursday, December 5, 2013, at his home. He was a business entrepreneur, had served in the U.S. Army and was of the Catholic faith. He was the runner-up in the South Carolina State High School Wrestling Championship. He is survived by his wife, Iris Davis; two daughters, Amber Abate of Cadiz and Jessica Allen of Hopkinsville; his father, Dominick Michael Abate of Hopkinsville; his mother, Connie Ulbrich of Archdale, N.C.; two brothers, Michael Vincent Abate of Wrightsville Beach, N.C. and Roman Vedo Abate of Hopkinsville; one sister, Deanna Michale Abate of Archdale, N.C. Private memorial services will be held later. Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz is in charge of arrangements.

Judy Lee Rule, 65, of Marion, formerly of Buncombe, died Saturday morning, December 7, 2013, at her home. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m.
