Mr. Rickey Dale "Rick" Riley, 67, of Marion, KY, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Crittenden Health Systems. Mr. Riley was a member of Barnett Chapel General Baptist Church, where he served as a Trustee and Treasurer. He was member of the Kentucky Jailers Association and held the positions of Board Member and Chaplain. He was a past president of Henderson Fraternal order of Police Lodge # 9, as well as a lifetime member. Rickey graduated Lone Oak High School in 1965, and attended Draughn's Business College for two years. His career in law enforcement consisted of employment by the McCracken County Sheriff Department (1969); Henderson Police Department (1974-1999); founder of Hebbardsville Fire Department; Department of Criminal Justice Training Instructor; Police Chief of Clinton, KY; Crittenden County Sheriff's Department; Crittenden County Jailer for two terms. He is survived by his wife Barbara Riley; a son, James Riley and his wife Leann of Henderson KY; three step-sons, Bobby, Donnie, and Eddie Herron all of Marion, KY; a brother Monty Riley of Marion KY; two sisters, Mona Gish of Owensboro KY, and Lana Masse of Paducah KY; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death his parents, Dennis Kerr and Naomi Louella Hale Riley; and one nephew. Funeral services will be Sunday, August 31, 2014, at 2PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem with Rev. Steve Tinsley and Rev. Bub Porter officiating. Burial will follow in White's Chapel Cemetery in Crittenden County, with funeral honors being conducted by the Henderson Police Department Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM, Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem.
