Our beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, Jessie Evelyn (Babb) Dickerson, 81, of Hampton Kentucky went home to the arms of Jesus on September 7, 2014 at her daughter's home in Dry Ridge Kentucky. She loved the Lord with all her heart and served him daily. She was a member of North Livingston Baptist Church, formerly Hampton Baptist Church where she was a member for 59 years. Jessie was married to Marvin Lewis Dickerson for 68 years on July 11, 2014. They made their home in Hampton Kentucky. She leaves behind her husband, Marvin Lewis Dickerson, two sons, Larry Dickerson and wife Hazel, Harvey Dickerson and wife Connie, one daughter Teresa Ann Pelkey and husband Ross, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. One son, Carey Dickerson proceeded in death. Burial will be October 4, 2014 at White Church Cemetery.
A much loved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Marvin Lewis Dickerson, 88, of Hampton, Kentucky went home to be with Jesus on September 20, 2014. He was a member of North Livingston Baptist Church, formerly Hampton Baptist Church for 59 years. Marvin served in the Coast Guard from 1942-1945 on the USAT General Walter H. Gordon during World War II with tours in Europe, Africa and the Philippines. He came home and married Jessie Evelyn Babb on July 11, 1946. They had four children Larry, Harvey, Carey and Teresa. Marvin worked at SKW for 33 years. Upon retiring he started woodworking and made many beautiful pieces of furniture. His wife Jessie proceeded him in death on September 7, 2014 and also one son, Carey Dickerson. He leaves behind four children, eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Joint burial services for the couple will be held on October 4, 2014 at White Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Jodi Lynn (Peek) Hodge, 39, of Marion, KY, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Jodi was a mechanical drafter with Bacon, Farmer, Workman, and Marcum Engineering in Paducah. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bubba" Hodge; five daughters, Hannah Peek, Chloe Maxfield, Kiley Hodge, Reagan Hodge and Zoey Hodge all of Marion, KY; her parents, Jimmy Peek of Princeton, IN, and Cherie Henshaw of Marion, KY; one sister, Katie Peek of Marion, KY; and a slew of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jack and Marie Threlkeld and one aunt, Faye Riley. Celebration of life services will be Saturday, at 11AM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors with Sister Janean Tinsley officiating. Burial will follow in Loveless Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Gladys Yates Singleton Moore, age 80 of Mayfield, KY. went home to be with Jesus Christ, Friday, September 26, 2014 at 2:10 P.M. at the Parkview Nursing and Rehab. Facility in Paducah. She was a member of His House Ministries Church in Mayfield, was retired head cashier from the Dukedom Bank in Dukedom and served as an elementary bus monitor for the Graves County School Transportation Department. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by her four daughters: Diane Singleton Wells and husband, Darrel, Mayfield, Sue Singleton Rodgers Elder and husband, Joey, Fancy Farm, Debbie Singleton Robertson Chiles and husband, Butch, Briensburg and Donna Singleton Keeling and husband, Ronnie, Grand Rivers, two sisters: Bonnie Yates Duke, Michigan and Freida Yates Powell Williams and husband, Jerry, Jackson, TN. Six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: John G. Moore, her parents: Horace Wayne Yates and Lucille Douglas Yates Weldon, two brothers: Harold Yates and Jackie Yates, one sister: Mary Evelyn Yates Fields Kilzer and stepfather: Howard Weldon. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with Rev. Chad Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in the Cuba Baptist Church Cemetery.
