Alice Sanders, 77 of Smithland died at 10:12am January 2, 2015 at her residence. Surviving are three sons, Dwayne Sanders of Texas, Robert Sanders of Smithland, and Mark Sanders of Paducah; one daughter, Kathy Lewis of Smithland; two brothers, Randy Gass of Spring City, TN and Harold Gass of Symsonia; one sister, Sue Martin of Tiline; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be 11:00am Friday, January 9, 2015 at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland. Burial will follow at Birdsville Cemetery. Visitation will be 10am until 11am Friday at the funeral home.
Joanne Sperry born January 30,1938. Passed December 29,2014. Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Sperry, daughter Terri Sperry Bradford, grandchildren, Charles Bradford Jr, and Anthony Rose. She is survived by her son, Michael Sperry and daughter Athena Sperry. Her grandchildren, Tonia Bradford, Lisa Nelms, Michael Bradford, Alex Sperry, and Ronnie Sperry. The memories we have created with you will forever be in our hearts. The love you have shown to every person you have ever met did not go unnoticed, and will never be forgotten. The empty place in our hearts can never be refilled. You were a truly amazing person. Until we see each other again, we will miss you every day for the rest of our lives.
Barbara Jean Shuecraft, 80, of Salem died January 8, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Salem. She was member of Faith Church and of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 217. Mrs. Shuecraft is survived by two daughters, Oma Brown and her husband James of Salem, Evelyn Sponaugle and her husband Matt of Shenandoah, VA; four sons, Jamie Shuecraft of Salem, Bill Shuecraft of Tinley Park, IL; David Shuecraft and his wife Teresa of Salem, and Tracy Shuecraft of Salem; 17 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Shuecraft; her parents Royal Grant and Alice Irene (Hunter) Stephenson and a sister June (Stephenson) Robinson. Services are scheduled for Wednesday at 1pm in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors with Rev. Phillip Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Lola Cemetery. Robert Joel "Bob" Caskey, 67, of Paducah died at 8:36 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at his residence. Mr. Caskey was a retired Law Enforcement Officer in the surrounding counties and was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Marla (Douglas) Caskey of Paducah; two sons, Frank McKinzie and wife Jessica of Boaz, Travis McKinzie of Benton; two daughters, Bobbie Caskey, Shalon Caskey-Day and husband Tim, both of Paducah; two brothers, Edward Caskey, Richard Caskey, both of White Hall, IL; two sisters, Sandy Griffith of Springfield, MO, Sherry Caskey of White Hall, IL; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Caskey; mother, Lucille (Jolly) Craven; one brother; two grandchildren.
