Wayne D. Harris, age 88, of Paducah, KY, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. Mr. Harris was born January 16, 1927, to the late Ira and Pearl Dowdy Harris in Paducah, KY. He was a member of the Margaret Hank Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He retired from National Cash Register, and he served his country in the United States Navy. Surviving are his two children, Randy Harris and wife Patty of La Center, KY, and Janice Harris of Paducah, KY; two grandsons, Clay Harris and fiancé Lori Cook of Ledbetter, KY, and Austin Harris and wife Alyssa of La Center, KY; two sisters, Barbara Heath of Mayfield, KY, and Francis Fox and husband Don of Paducah, KY; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Throgmorton Harris; two brothers, George Harris and Dr. Melvin Harris. Visitation will be Saturday, January 24th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Morrow Funeral Chapel in La Center, KY. Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. with Rev Mark Sickling officiating. Mary Colburn, age 88, of Calvert City, KY, died Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Calvert City Convalescent Center after living a full and wonderful life. Mary was born and raised in Murray, KY, and was the daughter of the late Rome Elkins and the late Rosie (Stewart) Elkins. She is preceded in death by one son: Tim Colburn, two brothers, and two sisters. Mary is survived by her husband of almost 70 years: William J. Colburn; four sons: Richard Colburn and wife Malinda of Calvert City, Eddie Colburn and wife Sandy of Nashville, TN, Marty Colburn and wife Brenda of Calvert City, Steve Colburn and wife Lesa of Calvert City; two daughters: Linda Dillon and husband James of Calvert City, Tina Johnson and husband Bert of Calvert City; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her late son, Tim Colburn's widow, Robin of Calvert City. Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY. Laverne Hill Travis, 83, of Marion, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah. She is survived by her husband, Wendell Travis, of Marion; one son, Mike Travis, of Marion; two brothers, Buddy and Robert Hill, both of Marion; and four sisters, Betty Hill, of Wichita, Kansas, Louise Hill, of Clay, and Mayme Hill and Mary Alice Hill, both of Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by three brothers. Her parents were Cloy Hill and Virgie Hill. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Gilbert Funeral Home. Elbert A. Thomason, 84, of Smithland died at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Lourdes hospital. He was a long-time member of Smithland First Baptist Church. He retired after 38 years in management with South Central Bell, serving in Paducah, Hopkinsville and Murray. He was a member of the Smithland Masonic Lodge 138. He was also instrumental in organizing the Civil Defense Unit in Livingston County and was involved in several other community and civic organizations. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Z. Thomason; two sons, Joe A. Thomason of Smithland and Jim F. Thomason of Hopkinsville; one sister, Jean Belcher of Henderson; three grandsons; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers. His parents were Vernie Franklin and Maude Sexton Thomason. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, with Rev. Brian Arnold and David Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Smithland Cemetery. Pauline Barnes 85 of Salem, KY passed away Saturday January 24, 2015 at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services. She was a homemaker and had been employed for 25 years at Crittenden County Convalescent Center prior to retirement. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Carolyn Howard, Salem, KY; Sheila Wilson, Salem, KY; Kelli Nesbitt, Marion, KY; and Danielle Sherer, Salem, KY; three sons, Dennis Barnes, Salem, KY; James Barnes, Marion, KY and Glynne Barnes, Salem, KY; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Ramage, Louisville, KY and Harold Ramage, Jamestown, KY; one sister, Shirley Newsome, Salt Lake City, Utah.Barnes was preceded in death by her parents, Ivory and Lenora Mae Walker Ramage, one son, one daughter, two brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Myers Funeral Home, Marion, KY with burial in the Old Salem Cemetery. Edith R. Mutter, 73, of Hopkinsville passed from this life on January 21, 2015, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville. She formerly resided in the Salem area and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Mutter is survived by one son, Darrell Bebout of Salem; four daughters, Rhonda Bebout, Tammy Simpkins and Lucinda Williamson all of Marion; Shelia Davis of Hopkinsville; one sister, Iva Nell Martin of Marion; grandchildren, Leslie Simpkins, Timothy Davis, Kimberly Davis, Jason Williamson and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her companion of 17 years, James Cannon; her husband, William R. Mutter; two grandchildren, Danny Williamson and Edith Faye Limp; her parents, Ira Earl and Nora Miller Gilland; one brother, Earl Gilland; two sisters, Louise Harris and Myrl Agent. Services are scheduled for Friday, at 1pm, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors with Rev. Deeann Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Lola Cemetery.
