William Thomas Goheen, 71, of Paducah, KY, died at 6:51 am Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his residence. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a former employee of VMV Railroad. He is survived by his daughters, Madison Hope Goheen, of Tiline, KY and Billie Sue Goheen, of Nashville, TN; his sons, William Shane Goheen, Shannon O'Neil Goheen and Joshua Cody Goheen, all of Paducah, KY; one sister and two brothers; 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas O'Neil Goheen and Hess Stella Dunaway Goheen and one daughter. A graveside funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday, April 20, 2015 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah, KY with. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. J. D. Gilland, 91, of Salem, KY passed from this life on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Mr. Gilland was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a retired boilermaker, a member of New Union General Baptist Church and a 60 year member of Carrsville Masonic Lodge #812. He is survived by his wife of 72 1/2 years, Wilma Jean Hosick Gilland of Salem, KY; one daughter, Donna Gipson and husband Dennis of Prosper, TX; two sons, Rick Gilland and his wife, Veronica of Sturgis, KY, Doug Gilland of Somerset, WI; one sister, Dorothy Crawford of Smithland, KY; six grandchildren, Jason, Bobby, Kimi, Christie, Kayla, Russell and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Rena Croft Gilland; one brother; and seven sisters. Services with military honors are scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 2 PM, at New Union Baptist Church in Salem, KY. Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from 5-8 PM, in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Directors in Salem and will resume at the church from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour on Wednesday. Stephen K. (Jeb) Meyer, formerly of Grand Rivers, KY, passed away on January 27, 2015, at the home of his sister, Mary E. Meyer in Carthage, NY, under the care of his family and Hospice of Jefferson County. Stephen was born in West Carthage, NY, on January 22, 1954, son of Harold and Grace Chisamore Meyer. He graduated from Carthage Central School in 1973, and joined the Army. After proudly serving his country for 20 years, Stephen retired from Fort Knox, KY, in 1994. He then held various jobs in Kentucky, including gas station attendant, auto parts salesman, groundskeeper for the Kentucky State Parks system, and a laborer for Reed Resources. A marriage to Constance Fuller in 1973 ended in divorce. He married Mina Loffina Bewerman on July 18, 1993. Stephen was an avid bird watcher who enjoyed taking leisurely drives and spending time with his family. He loved snacking on cheese curds and Croghan bologna. Stephen is survived by his children, Brian and Heather Meyer; his grandchildren, Shauwna, Brandan and Jayvon Meyer and a great-grandson Dominick Lafler, all of Auburn, NY. Stephen has four stepchildren, Jennie Reynolds, Robert Thea, John and Floyd Madden residing in Kentucky. Also surviving Stephen are six sisters and two brothers; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Stephen was predeceased by his parents; his wife Mina; and a Stepgrandson. Dawn Michelle Smith age 49 of Marion, Kentucky passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at Baptist Health Paducah. She was a homemaker and of the Presbyterian faith. She is survived by her son, Casey Tyler Woodall ; father, Donald Perry Lanham; sister, Christina Workman; brother, Michael Thomas Lanham all of Marion, KY and one grandson. Smith was preceded in death by her mother Sherrie Ann Turley Lanham. Cremation has been chosen by the family. Myers Funeral Home, Marion, KY is handling the arrangements.
