Dencial Ray James 64, of Grand Rivers, KY, formerly of Sturgis passed away at his home on Sunday May 3, 2015. He was a retired coalminer, having worked for Brushy Creek Mines for over 30 years. He was a UMWA member and also a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Sturgis, KY. Survivors include his wife of 25 years Glenda James of Grand Rivers, KY; 4 daughters Kathy Brewer and Sonja Lawson both of Grand Rivers, KY; Rhonda James of Sturgis, KY and Jeana Townsend of Dixon, KY; 2 sons Richie Watkins of Grand Rivers, KY and Danny James of Manitou, KY; 2 sisters Birdie Pierson of Sturgis, KY and Ruby Jennings of Nancy, KY; 2 brothers Junior Cecil James and Richard James both of Beulah, KY; 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday May 7, 2015 at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon, KY. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Fredonia, KY. Otha Lee Munsey, 86, of Kuttawa died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at his home. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Rotary Club and Lyons Club, a Kuttawa city councilman for 27 years, one of the founding members of the Relocation Foundation and one of the longest members of Kuttawa First Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Jeff Munsey of Kuttawa; one daughter, Judith Ann Stranak of Jackson, Tennessee; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbaranelle McCollum Munsey; one brother; and one sister. His parents were Sam and Nancey Cornett Munsey. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015, at Kuttawa First Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Nelson officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015, at the church. Odessa Brasher, 95, of Eddyville died Saturday, May 2, 2015, at her home. Mrs. Brasher was a homemaker, a member of Eddyville United Methodist Church and a member of Princeton 315 Order of EasternStar. She is survived by three daughters, Frances Boyd of Grand Rivers, Kaye Iwan of Calvert City and Brenda Boitnott of Eddyville; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Brasher; one son, Dennis "Denny" Brasher; and four sisters. Her parents were R.L. and Ida Taylor. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville with the Rev. Jack Larwa officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery in Eddyville.
