Wilma B. Giles, 93, of Eddyville died at 1:04 a.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015 at River's Bend Retirement Community in Kuttawa. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and the Fairview Homemakers Club. She is survived by one daughter, Linda L. Keichline of Eddyville; three sons, Duane Beckemeyer of Fairfield, California, David Beckemeyer of Cherokee Village, Arkansas, and Ronnie L. Beckemeyer of Benecia, California; one brother, Bill Leach of Benton; 24 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and at least 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alonzo Bechemeyer; her second husband, Homer L. Giles; one son, Craig Allen Beckemeyer; one brother; and one sister. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Fairview United Methodist Church in Eddyville. The Rev. Karen Franklin will officiate. Virgil Elgin Cook Jr., 82, of Marion, Kentucky died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. He was a member of Marion United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of Marion High School Class of 1951, longtime president of Crittenden County Farm Bureau, past member of the Crittenden County Hospital Board, lifelong owner of River Ridge Farms and an avid University of Louisville fan. Surviving are his wife, Linda Cook of Marion, Kentucky; sons, Chris (Tracy) Cook of Marion, Kentucky and Charles (Natasha) Cook of Kuttawa, Kentucky; grandchildren, Caroline and Ashleigh Cook of Kuttawa, Kentucky; and brother, Carlin (Barbara) Cook of Paducah, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil E. and Syble T. Terry Lee Hayden, 57, of Paducah died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at his home. Mr. Hayden is survived by two daughters, Tiffany Hayden of Calvert City and Umanda Floyd of Henderson; his mother, Alma Wollard Hayden; three brothers, John Hayden, Jimmy Hayden and Larry Hayden; two sisters, Barbara Hunt and Kathy Hayden; four grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews. Polly Ann Irvan, 51, of Calvert City died Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Marshall County Hospital in Benton. Mrs. Irvan was a certified nurse's assistant for Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation. She is survived by her husband, Donnie Irvan; one daughter, Tiffany Irvan; her parents, Patricia Ann (Phelps) and Bobby Russell; two brothers, Ricky Coomer and Bobby Jo Russell; and three sisters, Melissa Wilhelm, Ronda Watson and Belinda Johnson, all of Calvert City. Mildred Asbridge, 88, of Marion died Sunday, October 25, 2015, at Crittenden County Health and Rehab. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Deer Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Thomas Asbridge of Houston, Douglas Asbridge, Roger Asbridge and James Asbridge, all of Marion; her daughters, Linda Asbridge of Marion and Pamela K. Reeder of Watertown, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kelly Asbridge; daughter, Paula Asbridge; one grandson; one great-grandson; five sisters; and three brothers. Rachel Hammonds, 84, of Lovelaceville, KY passed away at 10:58 p.m. Monday, October 26, 2015 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Graves County, KY. Rachel was retired from Lourdes Hospital after 25 years in Registration. She owned Rachel's Dress Shop in Lovelaceville for 12 years. Rachel was a member of the Lovelaceville Baptist Church. She was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and cherished all of her family. Everyone that met Rachel always commented on her great sense of humor. Rachel is survived by her daughter, Monica Polley and husband Bill of Kevil, KY; sons, Kevin Hammonds and wife Paula of Ledbetter, KY, Mike Hammonds and wife Janene of Cunningham, KY, Greg Hammonds and wife Pam of Paducah, KY; ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Thomas "Spike" Dismore, 74, of Smithland, formerly of Calvert City, died at 12:55 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2015, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center. Mr. Dismore was a member of the Calvert City Masonic Lodge 543 and was self-employed in the radiator repair business. He is survived by his daughter, Carra Denise Butler of Loogootee, Indiana; three sons, Terry Dewain Dismore and Joseph Keith Dismore, both of Calvert City, and Dennis Edward Dismore of Benton; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Sue "Wanda" Childers Dismore; and one sister. His parents were Joseph Edward and Maggie Etta Dismore. Services will be held later. Charles Allen Hinchee, 79, of Marion died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Crittenden County Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was a member of Repton Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn G. Hinchee; one son, Charles R. Hinchee of Marion; two daughters, Jennetta Lynn Travis and Damita Joy Papineau, both of Marion; two brothers, Norman and Billy Hinchee, both of Marion; one sister, Muriel Humphrey of Marion; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandchild and one sister. Mr. Hinchee's parents were Charlie Fairbanks and Rosa Hinchee. Gladys Rhea Riley, 95, of Marion, Kentucky, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Crittenden Health Systems. She was a member of Marion Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Dolores Travis of Marion, Kentucky; grandchildren, Cindy (Roger) Venable of Marion, Kentucky, Rhonda (Randy) Dunn of Marion, Kentucky, and Todd (Sarah) Riley of Marion, Kentucky; sister, Effie Nell Paris of Marion, Kentucky; 10 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Riley; son, Jay Riley; parents, Ode and Millie Harnice; and several brothers and sisters. Dr. Dianne Boswell O'Brien, 72, of Paducah passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her residence. Dr. O'Brien was a former professor at Murray State University and a member of Reidland United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Bill O'Brien; two sons, Clark (Jordan) O'Brien of Tiline; Lee O'Brien of Smithland; two brothers, David (Katherine) Boswell of Smithland, Tim (Linda) Boswell of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Renee (Doug) McGill of Paducah; three grandchildren, Hunter O'Brien, Cinch O'Brien, and Tuff O'Brien; her stepmother, Genevieve Boswell of Bardwell, Kentucky; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents James Isaac Boswell and Alberta Massey Beggs; her stepfather, Weldon Beggs; and her aunt and uncle, Edith and Russell Smith. Dr. O'Brien's professional career spanned 36 years, including 12 years at Reidland High School before joining Murray State University where she taught physical education, dance, sports law, and drug prevention. Dr. O'Brien was a regional representative for Murray State University teaching dance and drug prevention classes at many elementary and secondary schools. She co-authored a sports law textbook that was used in several schools and she was a participant in the formation of the President's Title IX program, working closely with Senator Wendell H. Ford and other lawmakers. In addition, Dr. O'Brien served on the U.S. Olympic drug testing committee and other national committees representing her profession. Locally, Dr. O'Brien was instrumental in the Livingston County Historical Society and local Chamber of Commerce. Visitation for Dr. O'Brien will be at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland, Kentucky on Wednesday, October 21, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday, October 22, at the Smithland United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m.until the funeral hour.
