Livingston Senior Center 1st Annual Mardi Gras Party

The Ledbetter Senior Center held their 1st Annual Mardi Gras Party on Friday night February 28th at the Senior Center. The party featured authentic Cajun food cooked by some of the best cooks in the county. Delicious Jambalaya cooked by Joyce Croft, black beans and rice and other goodies were cooked by Nancy Gilbert, Evonda Vinson, Dena Mitchell and Kim Champion.
Several donated door prizes were given away but one in particular was the star of the show. A basket filled with Mardi Gras items was won and the winne proceeded to auction it off to the highest bidder. The bid reached $50 and was donated back and auctioned off again for $55. It was again donated back and auctioned off again for $40. The basket was auctioned off again for $35. All proceeds will go to help support the Center which receives no outside funding and is self-supporting. It was great watching the participants having so much fun spending their money for such a worthy cause.

Wonderful music was provided by singers, Glen Brasher and Dickie Dalton. Don Robinson also sang and played his harmonica and guitar. Everyone had a great time.
