Local convenient store to soon have new building and Godfather Pizza

BARDWELL - Bardwell Huck’s Store will soon have a new building with new coolers and top of the line appliances.
The store officials are in the process of getting a new building built that will sit in behind the old store. Store Manager Michelle Terry said, “The old building will be torn down and removed when the new store is built.” The new store is expected to be done sometime in December stated Terry.
Other new additions will include a drive through window, Godfathers Pizza, a grill, and a beverage cooler cave.
Bob Martin and Frank Bayley formed a partnership in 1960 and began opening supermarkets in small Southern Illinois towns eventually branching out to Kentucky and Tennessee. Their first convenience store was opened in 1974 in Grayville, IL and named “HUCK’S”. With innovative ideas, hard work and a vision of the future, Martin & Bayley, Inc., has grown to be one of the most financially sound companies in the country employing over 1500 people.
