Love for glass provides valuable business for local woman

HICKORY KY - The love for glass is why Cathy Roberts started her stained glass business.

She began the love affair with glass years ago and first began painting on glass. It was not long until she knew she had to get deeper involved and then began making stained glass pieces.

After a while she knew she had found her talent and her business grew beyond her wildest dreams. Cathy now creates beautiful stained glass panels with excellent structural integrity and craftsmanship.

Through the years Cathy has made so many items it was hard for her to keep up with the count. Window hangers to full size windows to full size doors no order is too large or too small for her to fill. She stated, if you can dream it I can make it.

Cathy also has a love for nature and while working in her studio she enjoys watching the many humming birds that fly in and feast on the feeders in her back yard. A couple of years ago a Hummingbird video she made won first place in Birds and Bloom Video Contest.

Cathy said, “many of my stained glass patterns are inspired by nature & many of our patterns are original designs. All our work is done by hand using Tiffany style foiling, leaded and fired glass. Panels are fabricated using premium glass and sometimes dichroic glass, and then polished to a shine.”

Cathy’s New View Art Glass Studio along with her husband Charles Auto Restoration is tucked away in rural Hickory Kentucky in the mist of rolling hills and green pastures. For more information go the newviewartglass.com or call Cathy at call (270) 658-3593.
