David K. Homra
David K. Homra, 85, of Paducah, formerly of Fulton, died Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He was born on March 23, 1923, in Fulton to Kimlen and Wadia Massad Homra. Mr. Homra graduated from Fulton City High School and also attended the University of Kentucky. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and served with the Merrill’s Marauders 5307th Composite Unit. He was assigned to the long range penetration special force unit that fought in the China and Burma campaign from 1943 to 1944. The men of Merrill’s Marauders all shared the rare distinction of being awarded the Bronze Star for their efforts during these two campaigns. After serving his country, Mr. Homra owned and operated K. Homra’s Clothing in Fulton along with many other business ventures. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fulton and the American Legion Post No. 172 in Fulton. An avid golfer, Mr. Homra was a life long member of the Fulton Country Club and a faithful supporter and fan of the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Funeral services for David K. Homra were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Home in Fulton. The Rev. George Jaeger officiated. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Fulton.
Local visitation was from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Donice Irene Pannells
Funeral services for Donice Irene Pannells, 63, of Paducah were at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and the Rev. Wayne Carter officiated. Burial followed at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Pannells died Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 4:17 p.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
Born in Green County, Arkansas, Mrs. Pannells owned and operated The Royal Restaurant in Chicago for 40 years. She was of the Methodist faith.

Cecil ‘Bud’ Gibbs
Cecil “Bud” Gibbs, 77, of Paducah died Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 9:11 a.m. at Western Baptist Hospital.
He was a retired truck driver with Swinford Trucking.
A memorial service was scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah.
Visitation was set for noon Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
Malvin Watson
Services for Malvin Eugene Watson, 33, of Paducah were at 1 p.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church in Centralia, Ill., and the Rev. Hubert Bankhead and Bishop Henry Dabney officiated. Burial was at 11 a.m. Monday at Tower Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro, Ill.
Mr. Watson died at 11:07 p.m. Friday at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.
He was a member of Olivet Free Will Baptist Church in Carbondale, Ill., and worked at Texas Roadhouse as a cook and as an independent associate for prepaid legal services.
Kathy Hagan
Services for Kathy Waggoner Hagan, 48, of Lone Oak were at noon Wednesday at the Heartland Worship Center and the Rev. John Hagan officiated. Entombment followed at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mrs. Hagan died at 6:25 a.m. Sunday at her home. She was a member of Heartland Worship Center, a graduate of Lone Oak High School, attended Paducah Community College and was a homemaker.

Barkley Johnson
Barkley Allen Johnson, 92, of Paducah died Friday, November 7, 2008, at 12:09 p.m. at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.
He was the retired owner of B & V’s Restaurant.
Mr. Johnson was a secretary of Elks B.P.O. No. 217 of Paducah for over 40 years, a secretary of Broadway United Methodist Church of Paducah, and a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School.
Memorial services took place at 7 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Elks Lodge No. 217, 310 North 4th Street, Paducah, KY 42001.
Visitation was set for 2 p.m. Monday, November 17, 2008, at the Elks Lodge.

Martha Jane Grimm Hunt, 81, passed on at 3 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at her home in Paducah.
Mrs. Hunt was a lifelong member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church and the Rev. Don Carver officiated. Burial was at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.

Eve Stewart
Eve Stewart, 25, of Paducah died at 2:06 a.m. Thursday at Western Baptist Hospital.
She was a member of Central Church of Christ and loved art and designing clothes.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at McCracken County Cemetery and Patrick Ryan officiated.
Shirley Reed
Sister Shirley was retired from the McCracken County Board of Education with many years of service. She was co-pastor of The Church of Jesus Christ. Being a member of the Church for over 50 years, she held a minister’s license for several of those years. She also served a number of years as a Sunday School teacher, secretary and treasurer.
Her celebration of life service was at 7 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008, at The Church of Jesus Christ, 4225 Benton Rd., Paducah. Officiating was Bishop Scott Sallee, Bishop Harvey Ray Moore and Bishop Jimmy Ennis.
Visitation was at the church after 11 a.m. Sunday. An early morning graveside service was at Oak Grove Cemetery in Ledbetter at 10:00 a.m. Monday.
